NN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan men's basketball head coach John Beilein announced today (Wednesday, June 30) that redshirt-junior guard Laval Lucas-Perry (Flint, Mich./Flint Powers Catholic HS) has been dismissed from the program.

"The University of Michigan and our men's basketball program has established expectations essential to the success of all students and athletes," said Coach Beilein. "These university and team standards have been clearly communicated to the team and Laval on numerous occasions through meetings, conferences and mentorship.

"Unfortunately, Laval has violated our team standards. Therefore, I have decided that he will no longer be a part of our basketball program. Given the fact that Laval is near the completion of his degree, he has been extended the offer to remain on scholarship for the 2010-11 academic year and graduate in May with our 2011 class."

After transferring from the University of Arizona midway through his freshman season, Lucas-Perry has played 58 games for U-M averaging 5.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assist per game.

not sure how much bad mouthing the program needs though, it kind of speaks for itself right now

scUM boards abuzz (led by the beav) about FL OT Tony Posada possibly being the next to commit. Who is Tony Posada you ask? Another ***...#64 OT without a single offer from any of the FL "big three". DickRod is cleaning up! How does he do it?!?!? :rofl:

I hope RichRod coaches here for 20 more years. All I think about is what he accomplished at WVU with generally significantly less talent than the Michigan name can bring in. Yum

I don't see how Harbaugh would be a good hire. If he never went to UM we probably wouldn't even be discussing his name as a new coach to takeover. Like Brutus said he isn't very proven. The only thing he can really say is that he beat USC. If we get another coach he needs to be a great recruiter and be a spread offense coach so we can use the talent that RR has brought in. Also needs to be a great defensive mind that would know how to use the defensive talent. I would hope it would be Peterson from BSU or TCUs coach as I've said before.

Harbaugh is out recruiting dick rod at freaking Stanford, im pretty sure hes a better recruiter... and the "talent" rich rod has brought in has Michigan looking like a MAC team
