Michigan, which has gone 8-16 the first two seasons under Rich Rodriguez, is a bit of an unknown, DiNardo said.
"The problem I have with Michigan, you can't tell how physical they are because when you watch them practice, they're in the spread and it's hard to tell if a team is physical, and it's hard to tell if the defense can stop the run, because they don't see the run," DiNardo said, referring to a more conventional running offense.
"If you look at the best teams in the conference, let's just say I'm right, Ohio State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State and even Purdue's now lining up in two-back and running the ball, so if I'm right that those are the best six, I have no idea whether Michigan can stop that offense of those six, because they don't see it in the spring or the fall, so you have to wait until the season unfolds. That's why Michigan is very confusing for me."
