2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

Just in case the scUM administrators have any spare time while dealing with the NCAA, one of their alumni has filed a law suit alleging violations of the state open meetings statutes. Alleges a meeting of their Board was held to discuss the NCAA allegations and he was denied admission.

'U' alum says he filed suit to hold regents accountable | The Michigan Daily

Curious point not really addressed: At their presser the scUM brass claimed they had received the allegations from the NCAA less than 24 hours earlier. So, if they didn't have the letter yet, what were they discussing at their secret meeting? :bicker:

David Brandon

"Rich Rodriguez is our football coach and he will be our football coach next year."

That's all well and dandy because 2010 means nothing to me. However, he better not be here for 2011. Feel sorry for the next coach that has to come in and clean this [censored] up. Hopefully we can get a coach in here and turn this thing around quickly. Mr. Brandon would be wise looking for a replacement now. That is all I have to say.

Here's a twitter feed from the presser for those who can't access flash (ie on phones):
ESPN BigTen (ESPN_BigTen) on Twitter

There will be a lot of chatter from this but no serious consequences, other than giving the new AD an easy way to fire RR if things don't turn up this season.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing w/ you but how can this be true with the nature of these issues?

Lane Kiffin is probably looking for another job if you guys are in the market. I hear he's a great hire.

Yes. He could last for a year. Maybe improve us to 6-6. Go to the Pizza Bowl and get blown out. Then go to the Dallas Cowboys in 2012 to become the head coach.

Just to reconcile the "We told you so" account.

He isn't a good fit culturally for UM: Check
He is an offensive scheme coach who doesn't emphasize defense: Check
He will bring in recruits of questionable character: Check
He will get UM in trouble with the NCAA: Check
He doesn't make in game adjustments: Check
He is a big game choke artist: TBD check because he's been so busy setting all time UM losing records he hasn't been in a big game yet.

The clown made a name for himself coming up with a gimmick offense that played well at the mid major level. All he's done at UM is recruit the same type of "sleepers" that he recruited at WVU, bring in the latest versions of Pac Man and Chris Henry, incur 5 major NCAA violations and lose more than anyone in living memory.

The absolute best part is every year he stays is another year the next guy has to overcome a roster full of 20 more slot dots and spinners. If they fire him after even 3 years we as OSU fans will get 6 years of benefit from the hire minimum.

I'll say it till the day I die...God bless Bill Martin.

You say that like it's a bad thing...

It's actually a good thing compared to where this program is. But hey RR has it all under control. Michigan came so close to being 0-8 in the conference last year because Indiana came a hair of beating Michigan. They got lucky vs ND. So the wins that were decided in by the 4th quarter last year........ Western, Eastern, and Delaware St. It's all part of his plan........moving Michigan to the MAC.

usc should probably pay some attention to whatever punishment TTUN gets from this. If TTUN gets ball-tagged, relatively speaking, then USC might as well get a bottle of KY, bend over, grab their ankles, and hope that Paul Dee doesn't have a lot of staying power.
