2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

So coach, could you tell us more about this 3-3-5 defense?

Beyond the numbers 3-3-5, what Michigan defense coordinator Greg Robinson hopes to put on the field is a unit that's more flexible, with more depth, and better prepared.

Coach Rich Rodriguez's decision to switch to a 3-3-5 defense isn't as drastic a change as you might believe. U-M dabbled with it last season while running a base 4-3 defense. The commitment in 2010 will be more concerted, but the commitment is based on personnel.

"We might have some different terminology," Robinson said. "(But) we are doing a lot of the things we did last year."

Added Robinson, heading into his second season as U-M's defensive coordinator: "I can see some of what Rich talked about when I came here. We're tying it together. I don't know if I've been anywhere where you haven't changed, tweaked something based on your talent."

They not only sing, they also dance.

There's a lot of doom and gloom outside the Michigan program, but inside Schembechler Hall, there's definitely a different feeling among players and coaches. They know Year 3 is critical and another losing season will not be tolerated, but no one is walking on eggshells in here. Several players told me they're having fun playing football again, particularly in practice. "We can dance in practice now," wide receiver Roy Roundtree said, smiling. "Freshman and sophomore year, no one could really dance. But the only time we can dance is if we make a big play or score a touchdown." Who's the best dancer? "Kevin Koger," Roundtree said. "Denard, too. I said I might do a Chad Ochocinco if I score a touchdown."

Dick Rod-
"All three of them bring different things, but the important thing is that we want all of them running the whole offense this year," he said. "We don't necessarily want one player who is going to pull away as the clear No. 1. We'd rather have two or three guys that we feel like we can win games with, and right now we've seen all three of them get better and head in that direction."

Wow this guy is a moron.

Well its not like any coach is going to come out and say "we're fucked at QB" but it is a dumb ass way to put it.

The funny part is the ass clown morons in their fan base who will take this at face value and run with it.
