2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

JBaney45

Well they did build Harbaugh a NEW PERSONAL shower/restroom/locker for 50K...I'd say Stanford is ready to ante up...Football is one of the few blackeyes in their athletic department...they win the overall athletic cup every year. Being great at football is the icing on the cake.

Northwestern isn't surging? Damn...let me see they have a coach in his 30's who might be the first coach in their programs history to take a team to 3 consecutive bowls...I'd call that surging...if they upgrade their facilities they will become an even bigger player.

MSU...hmmmmmm once again the last time MSU went to 3 straight bowl games was the 60's...when was the last time they beat Michigan 3 years in a row...damn that was the 60's too...they are winning the recruiting battles instate and are building depth...I'd say thats surging.

Iowa isn't surging...I dare ask when was the last time they won an Major Bowl game...yep 50+ years ago...Ferentz has built the program so they are competitive every year.

Wisconsin...I'd say being ranked top 10 isn't bad...25 years ago Wisconsin was on the same level with Indiana in football. Since Alvarez they have creeped up to 3rd or 4th best program in the conference...I'd say they are surging...Bielema is a young coach and IIRC he is 2 years removed from a 12-1 season.

Michigan is fucked...they are down in a period when the conference is transitioning. They better pray they are on the same side of the alignment as MSU and OSU or they are fucked. Look at their 2012 OOC schedule then add The teams on theor side of the alignment plus OSU and MSU...

Another thing to consider is they may have us go to 9 conference games...ouch...ouch...and ouch to Michigan.

If you don't think Pelini will be a thorn in their asses in Ohio recruiting your smoking crack...shit he may take a couple good one from us. Then add the fact theres a championship game...if they are not on our side we might play/beat them twice in the same season. It works both ways but our program is not in shambles.

Actually, Sparty went to bowls from '95-'97, and had 4 straight from '87-'90.

But I'd agree that they're on an upswing.

1. I love the Wildcats. Beautiful campus, great academic tradition, two excellent fight songs, but how far can you surge without putting butts in the stands? Playing the last game of the 2009, bowl game on the line, Wisconsin in town and the smallest stadium in the Big 10 was half empty and half the folks there were wearing Wisconsin gear. The last game in Evanston with OSU was the same way. The Chicago media puts the NU story behind Notre Dame and Michigan, even with Illinois. You put up good numbers in evanston so you can get the hell out of Evanston, because the best you're going to do over the long haul is .500.

2. How long did it take John Cooper to bring the Bucks back into national prominence? How long did it take JT to clean up the image, get the Michigan gorilla off the side of the stadium? The same is true about Michigan. It only took Bo three years to put Bump Elliot out of everyone's mind. When you have the income, the fan base, the facilities and the media behind you it's not Mission Impossible.

My son's married to a real loser--lousy housekeeper, bad mother, ugly, lazy, a total failure. I want her gone.

I just know my precious boy would be so much better off with Angelina Jolie. She's everything his current wife isn't.

She's the gal he needs. She knows nothing but success.

There's only one teensy problem with my plan...

Your can't beat up Brad Pitt?

Well Michigan can just send William Campbell out and smack around Brad Pitt like a bitch.
