Why is everyone so convinced that we can't hold them to under 20 points? We held Texas to around 20 points last year. Looking on ESPN's main site, we have yet to give up 30 all season. Okay, so maybe we haven't faced an offense as good as Oregon's but who gives a fuck. They may score 30 of more but why are some of your pussies so convinced they will? I really wouldn't be surprised if we held them to about 17-21 range. Against the ever-so-stingy UCLA defense, Oregon was able to scorch the score board with 24 points. Not saying that's proof we will stop them, I'm just tired of reading through this thread and seeing a bunch of pussies from our own school talking about some sort of shoot out. Give me a fucking break, anyone that knows are coach knows this will not be a shoot out. This will be played like any other game we play. We are going to come out, punch people in the mouth and shit on their uniforms. 2010 can't get here soon enough. So sick of waiting and listening to this garbage.

It's "our" coach, not "are" coach and you forgot to say that anyone who doubts anything but the best possible outcome isn't a real fan.

Just a mention about blount, Harley. John clay of Wisconsin ran for almost 1400 yds and is 250. Osu held him to 59 yards. The only reason to be worried about blount is that nasty right hook of his

lol

Gotcha.

Probably isn't even that nasty when the guy's actually expecting it.

Sucker-punching little bitch.

Here's a Ohio State 2009 Defense Highlight video
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QGEQSZvZsA]YouTube - Ohio State Defense 2009[/ame]

From what I can see, you guys have a really big/strong front four, and a really opportunistic secondary. And since you guys are Linebacker U. in the midwest, I don't even have to mention how good the LB's are.

It looks like your defense lives up to the hype, but it's also hard to tell how they will match up against our offense. Looking at the highlight video, I really don't see any team that is that similar to us, or has the spread-specific personnel that we have. Just because Michigan and Illinois run the spread, doesn't mean they run the spread like we do, or as well as we do.... just like saying "Washington runs a Pro-Style offense with a mobile QB", but that doesn't mean they run it as well, or have the talent that Ohio State does, see what i'm saying?

It's going to be interesting. Our team, as a whole, is small and fast. Your team, is a lot bigger and stronger. I don't see us scoring that much in the first half, but i'm hoping in the second half we will be able to wear your defense down and start to unload.

Only 2 weeks away !!!

I would think Tressel will try to keep the ball out of Oregon's hands as long as possible. At the risk of sounding like a douche, the length OSU is able to hang on to the ball might have some to do with how well Oregon's D holds up against the run. That's the only way OSU can win a shoot out with Oregon, is my thought... If the Buckeyes are scoring at will with the ground game.

I agree with you re: OSU not seeing a team like Oregon in terms of ability to run the sets Oregon runs. It will be a challenge for the Buckeye D, for sure.

The only true concern I have in our D against Oregon's O is the pace. The only time Texas went right down the field on OSU last year was when they went to hurry up and substitutions were at a minimum. If the line can't switch out, that will put a ton of pressure on our LB's to make the tackle on their own. Management of the subs on D is huge. Gotta have em ready to go in when the others want to come out. No lolly-gagging.

To reiterate what Nate said, it's all about pace. After watching those clips, it seems pretty clear that USC's defense was either really tired, or has regressed substantially since September.

I hope that we aren't giving them the soft coverage that USC was using. We did a great job of smothering PSU's recievers and it really affected the timing of the offense.

Secondly, that was a really poor tackling game for USC as far as I could tell. They really didn't do a good job in space at all. They also got virtually no pressure.

The only way this happens is if we get gassed.

That said, Masoli is the real deal, and their offensive line is quick. I think the strength of our front 4 is the key to disrupting their offense. Pulling guards (a lot) is tough to do when Todd blows your center up and is now blocking the pulling lane.

This could be the best game of the entire bowl season. Can't wait til it gets here.

Go Bucks!

Tresselball Wins

Honestly I believe (has much as everyone hates tresselball) that will win us the game, keep that offence off the field all game. Run the ball with Saine and Boom kill the clock and keep there questionible defence guessing, throw big number 2 in different positions. Like they did vs Texas (as you all remeber we hardy lost that game, and that's what we did). I really think it's going to be a great game, but they need to come out pumped, fired up, and use that always great defence.
