Totally writing a short story about that experience. Really. Interesting times. . .

Charge is being dropped and vacated, but wow, what a weird 24 hours in jail. No beds, no food, no water, just cement and a lot of very. . . interesting individuals. Individuals that developed into factions over the two benches, which offered the only possibility at sleep. Luckily I was adopted by the right crowd, which in this case happened to be the black city kids. I didn't quite fit in anywhere. Ha. It always helps to be funny, unintimidated, and to offer free legal advice. :biggrin:

Nothing like painting your toenails blue as a joke for 4th of july and ending up in jail with sandals on though. . .

Actually, they kind of knew the charges wouldn't stick, and who I was or what I did (and how I acted with the whole ordeal-- I could have pressed charges for real but didn't want to mess up someone else's life, knowing that I would be okay anyway with all this, despite wounds on me. . .), and didn't even make me give up stuff. No search either.

That is one of the things I caught flack for: "Dude, it's because he's WHITE!" "Look at us, we got no strings in our shoes. We don't have our wallets. We've got no jewelry. You still have a damn belt on. That's a fuckin' weapon. Shit you have your keys! N____r could stab a motherfucker's eyes out with those. We can't even keep our pants up!"

:) (True, btw, and really quoting: not trying to stereotype, though it looks really bad in type. . . these were really cool guys btw, one acted on the Wire. :) )

It really was racist, or perhaps more likely classist or something, I suppose. . .
