Scoring System:
I used the same formula I used a couple years ago. Each team is awarded points for each pick based on where they picked a player versus when the player was actually drafted. If someone picked a player 12th and he went 17th, they get -5 points. If someone picked a player 17th and he went 12th, they get 5 points. There is no weighting based on the round the pick was made. For picks that weren't made, the same point value is assigned as if a pick had been made, but the player went undrafted.

Exact picks:
Cleveland - 1.7 - Joe Haden
Tennessee - 1.16 - Derrick Morgan
Atlanta - 1.19 - Sean Weatherspoon
Cleveland - 5.29 - Larry Asante - That's damned impressive!

I might have had Minny among the winners if I'd let the Jets take Everson Griffen in round 1. :tongue2:

Griffen was only your 4th worst. Stop blaming all of your problems on USC!

Pete told him he should have redshirted last year, and then planned for the 2011 draft.

Would you consider including any bonus points for correct (or close) picks? Or is that beyond your bean counting skillset?

I would. I'm open to any proposals for a bonus system.

I've plugged in:
Exact pick +100
Off by 1 +75
Off by 2 +60
Off by 3 +45
Off by 4 +30
Off by 5 +20
Off by 6 +10

I can tweak any of those pretty easily, so if any one has another suggestion

+03 Bradford
+19 Pouncey
-151 Washington
-040 Hardy
+052 Cooper
-----------------
-117 Total

Neither system works perfectly, though this one makes a little more sense. Bradford at 4 & Pouncey in the 2nd are two pretty huge steals.

I got killed by this:
Teams unwilling to give Tony Washington a chance | National Football Post

2nd round talent but undrafted. We'll see who has the last laugh

Using these numbers:

PIT +26.5
HOU +26
CHI +24.2
OAK +19.11
AZ +15.86
MIA +1.4

It's hard to come up with a fair system. It seems like being off by just a pick or two in later rounds should be worth more than being off by a pick or two in the first round. It's much easier for STL to be close on the 1st overall pick than it is for CLE to be close on a 5th round pick.

Maybe a multiplier for later rounds? 1st=1.0X bonus amount, 2nd=1.5x, 3rd=2.0x, 4th=2.5x, 5th=2.5x, 6th=3.0X, 7th=3.5X? Something like that?
