2010 Big Ten-ACC Challenge

Starts tonight with Virginia at Minnesota. Here is how I see it going:

Virginia at Minnesota: Gophers playing well...Minnesota

Iowa at Wake Forest: Iowa couldn't beat Asleep Forest: Wake Forest
Georgia Tech at Northwestern: Wildcats could make a tourney run: NW
Ohio State at Florida State: Buckeyes destroy another Florida team, Daggum: OSU
Michigan at Clemson: Tigers all the way: Clemson
North Carolina at Illinois: UNC humbled, will battle back: UNC

Indiana at Boston College: Hoosiers look good early: Indiana
NC State at Wisconsin: Iceman Bo Ryan lulls the Pack to sleep: Wisconsin
Purdue at VT: Boilers are still good: Purdue
Maryland at Penn State: Could come down to this one like it did last year: Maryland
Michigan State at Duke: Final 4 preview?: Duke

So I have Big Ten 6, ACC 5

Thoughts?

Can't argue too much. Perhaps, Illinois winning.

Not impressed with what I've seen so far out of UNC and it's at Illini. Earlier, I thought the VaTech vs Purdue game could go to VT, but they did not look very strong late against KSU and then they lost to UNLV, though UNLV may be pretty good.

I think the same. Looks good to me with a question mark over NC, given the last ten days.

Like most others, I agree with your picks but think that Illinois can beat UNC at home. I was trying to find a crappy ACC school that sCum might be able to handle but that was a definite no go. I might give Iowa a shot if they were playing at their house but on the road I don't think they have much of a shot, if any.

Virginia at Minnesota
Iowa at Wake Forest
Georgia Tech at Northwestern
Ohio State at Florida State
Michigan at Clemson
North Carolina at Illinois
Indiana at Boston College
NC State at Wisconsin
Purdue at VaTech
Maryland at Penn State
Michigan State at Duke

So I guess I have Big Ten winning 6, losing 5. Big Ten looks a bit oversold to me so far this season, but the ACC seems uncharacteristically weak.

Minny in a battle at home versus Virginia, 52-51, 12 minutes left. The Cavs are 9/11 from behind the arc. :shake:

This one needs to be a B10 victory.

Come on, Gophers!

The Iversons. Allen and Colton. Pretty different games.

Goophers look like they are playing for Dan Monsoon instead of for Tubby. Dreadful performance.

Does anyone else think Tony Bennett looks like a very attractive replacement for Bo Ryan a few years down the road? What a phenomenal coach. Better at turning chicken shit into chicken salad than anyone else on the college landscape.
