What's with players today not wanting to wear the leg pads?

You're not allowed to block below the waist outside the tackles anymore (and even then only if they're not engaged), and how often do you see guys go low and form tackle these days?

Tackling in the 21st century is either a shoulder barge and a pose if the guy falls down, a shove out of bounds or an arm drag. Who needs leg pads?

i think its all about speed...nobody wears a protective cup either, and you'd think that would be a neccessity. But it also slows you down....

He sure looked quick running with the ball, but appears to have some work to do in the passing dept. Looks like a heck of an athlete though.

It is just an all-star game, so I'm taking it for what it's worth.

He's a very talented player and I think he'll be a pretty good college player at LSU.

But, yes, he's struggling today.
