2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

Who in the hell was 3-8?

TSUN was 3-9 last year, let's not cut them any breaks.

Oh...I thought they were officially 3-8 because losses to DII teams don't count..I totally forgot that Toledo is in fact a DI team.

Silly me. Must be that Appy State hangover.

I guess when you compile the worst record in program history, you need all the practice you can get.

U-M sports blog: Rich Rodriguez wouldn't mind an NCAA preseason | Detroit Free Press | Freep.com

It's even more frustrating to him that every other level of football gets prep time against someone else.

"We're the only level (without)" he said. "The NFL has four preseason games, and they're pros, even on smaller college, when I was in Division II, you could have a scrimmage game. In high school, obviously you have them. In Division I, you can't have them and it's kind of silly.

U-M might also want to consider doing a full contact split-squad game in the spring like every other FBS college is doing.

I know this would require a radical rethinking of recruiting at U-M, such as signing enough OL and DL to field a complete two-deep, which I don't think they've done for about four years, but what the hell do I know?

But that will take away scholarships available for more slot receivers and option quarterbacks.

I'm still trying to figure out why he wants to play a Spring Game against another school. Although this is the same coach who wanted to give the No. 1 jersey to a freshman, so tradition isn't really important.

It's just another excuse for losing.

Just ignore the fact that everybody else they play is in the same situation. Well, except for Delaware State - but now there's an explanation ahead of time in case they lose that one. :wink2:

I live in a fairly eclectic part of Atlanta. It borders the Midtown/Decatur area and could be described as progressive and "artsy-fartsy."

I'm lucky because I live next to a great park. Piedmont park in Atlanta is world class, has plenty of activities for all age groups, lots of great trails and sidewalks for walking/running and is largely safe for everyone. A while back, I was going for a jog after a night of drinking and I passed two men sitting on a bench and making out. The were aggressive and all over each other. Tongue was in play, plenty of hand action and it was really making people who were in the area feel uncomfortable.

At the time - I thought it was the gayest thing I've ever seen. And then I saw Michigan's offense from last year.

I have travelled America. In particular, I've been to Atlanta many, many times. Nothing in this great land of ours has scarred me for life like the night I went to the Clermont Lounge.

Unfortunately, there are some things that you cannot unsee.

It is truly a test of manhood. Outside of death on the field of battle - I can think of no other place that more accutely tests the gumption of a man.

You passed Dryden. A+

Let this date mark the beginning of the 'wait until next year' chorus. I 100% guarantee that once scUM fans get to see Forcier in live action, that's all we're going to hear until next fall. GARDNER GARDNER GARDNER WHARGARRBLE

Okay... Word from practices is that Forcier's passing looks really good. Also, Denard will probably see plenty of playing time this year. There's a new video on mgoblue.com about a press conference with RR; it shows quite a bit of practice. Apparently, Denard has been impressing with his legs, not so much with his arm. His arm will be adequate to make the short passes accurately. As for your comment; I've said it quite a few times on here, but I'll say it again; I expect Gardner to redshirt a year, and then to get more and more playing time as he progresses. His RS sophomore year, he should be competing for a good amount of PT, and will take over the reigns in 2013.

No he wont.

The world is going to end in 2012. Surprised you haven't heard. They made a movie about it and everything.

Gardner is not going to redshirt.
