2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

Martin might have a point had RR not been the 4th choice.

U-M wanted coach with countrywide appeal

Speaking to the Detroit Economic Club at Cobo Hall on Thursday, Martin provided insight into his decision to hire Rich Rodriguez.

He cited a Wall Street Journal article that identified the Big Ten's recent struggles on the national stage as a function of the population base shifting from the Midwest to the South and West.

"That's why, in recruiting Rich, I was looking for a coach who played a more up-tempo spread offense type that you see on the field today at Michigan and secondly, has recruiting in-roads into the South and the West," Martin said.
It didn't take long for the speaking tour to kick off. Perhaps Martin should have waited until the end of the season. As for the CPA firm - - perhaps they should ask him to speak on what procedures should be put into place to prevent disgruntled employees from destroying company files before leaving employment.

Being the guy that hired a coach who is currently 4-0 is a lot more impressive than being the guy that hired a coach who has just finished a 6-6 season.

yeah, by all the major recruiting sites. Cornelius Jones is a commit as well, he is only a 3 star, but looks as good as gardner.

Man Up Monday: Rich Rodriguez and Michigan Football

Damn Homey, in 1997 Charles Woodson was the man homey, what happened to y?all? Two years ago it seemed like a perfect pairing. You take the team with the most wins in college football history with a team that had gotten a little stale under Lloyd Carr, and match it up with Rich Rodriguez, the man who was two yards away from the national title game two years ago at West Virginia of all places and it should have been pure magic. By the way, this is Rich Rod catching his second Man Up Monday in about three months...
