2009 TSUN arguments, shenanigans (not football)

I don't get why people continue to give wisconsin respect. Alvarez and his good squads are long gone.

Rr was booed off the field at halftime and later said they deserved it. Constant turnovers, mistakes, and general ineptitude. Michigan should have been losing by 4-5 tds at halftime but wisconsin's inability to move the ball on a suspect, tired UM D kept it within reach.

If they didn't schedule Cal poly, they don't even make the bowls. They almost lost to CP anyway.

Bielema has let that program slide big time.

I agree with everything you said but the one reason I say keep an eye on Wisky is this; BB knows he's in trouble and when he gets backed into a corner he's going to go back to what they know, pound the ball. Clay is a load, the perfect back for their system and they always have an OL that can maul you. People talk about contract years for athletes, well imo coaches have them to.

I can see Wisky getting back to some serious doses of smashmouth, cleaning up the TO's and penalties, getting better QB play and generally being a pain in the ass/matchup problem. Especially against the more finesse oriented teams, which is why I think they beat scUM up in Camp Randal this year.

EDIT****
Didn't see BM80's post....what he said.

John Clay alone should be able to beat that team. If their usual mediocre QB doesn't turn the ball over, I don't see any way Wisky loses that game. Especially playing in Madison in mid November.

Because when everything is said and done, they're Wisconsin and Michigan is Michigan. By that time I predict that Michigan's offense will be just about where (notice the about) OSU's offense was last year at a similar time. They won't be world beaters, but they'll be capable.

Western Michigan - push
Notre Dame - L
Eastern Michigan - W
Indiana - W
@Michigan State - push
@Iowa - L
Delaware State - W
Penn State - L
@Illinois - L
Purdue - push
@Wisconsin - L
Ohio State - L

I think they'll go 6-6 w/ a couple of surprises.

Been saying the same thing since the kick off incident v. PSU back when they changed the clock rules.

They gave the Buckeyes all they could handle last year. They still deserve respect, even if they aren't as consistent as they used to be.

If they show up, I don't think Wisky will have a problem with the Wolverweenies.

So did Ohio.

They did show up, the same way they did most of the year. Their wins came against teams with losing records or 7-6 seasons, not counting Cal Poly*.

* - which was only a win because Cal Poly's kicker choked away a game-winning FG before OT & missed the game tying XP in OT.

And games like that arguably occur because the opponent wasn't paid enough respect until the team finds themselves in a fight.
halftime? yes. late 4th quarter? no.

regardless, the point is Wisconsin has been very suspect lately, and lost to the worst Michigan team in history. They didn't catch UM on an unlucky day either, they were horrific for a complete half.

John Clay vs Michigan D

im going to have to side with Mr Clay
Agreed, but does Wisconsin have anyone to stop Minor? They gave up 5 yards per carry to UM's rushing offense last year. For crying out loud, Steven Threet broke off a 58 yarder... and still averaged almost 4 ypc on the other 8 runs.

Beanie ran wild on them. So did Greene. Royster picked up 4 ypc. The two ILL backs as well. Two IU backs averaged over 5 ypc. So did cal poly's rb :lol:

Cal Poly's QB, Weber, and Threet (:lol:) all picked up quality yardage on the ground. I think Forcier will as well, if he's still in one piece. If not, I don't like their chances of defending Robinson in space (even if he's not a true qb yet).
