And he invented the blitz...

Is that where rich got the idea for his recruiting strategy?

Right.... because before 2008, osu wasn't pulling in top 10 classes damn near every year.

and I suppose you have some spin for us that scUM going 3-9 hurts our recruiting? He said Dick Rod helps our recruiting, not allows it.

Gentlemen, I believe that we are being most insensitive to our guest, goblue15. He's right. It is far too early to judge RR -- it will take at least three or four more sub .500 seasons before we can truly call him a failure. I am a generous and forgiving person, so I am willing to wait at least five seasons or more before definitively stating that Rodriguez had failed to turn around Michigan's program.

And Michigan made a fine choice for that program. Truly, we ourselves could not have found a better candidate; I would have chosen John L. Smith, for example. I would have been wrong. It's obvious that Michigan has better leadership and decision making in their Athletic Department than I would be able to provide. I'm quite impressed.

Finally, I am excited for our friends up north that they have such a talent-laden recruiting class, filled with the sorts of players who will fit into their new offensive system. I am also excited for them that their new coach has scoured the country and found over 100 players of the quality and caliber their program needs and desires. That's amazing, especially this early in the process. Jim Tressel has never found so many prospective Buckeyes in one recruiting season, never mind this early!

Here's to many more years of the RR regime in Ann Arbor. May he win just enough games to keep his job.
