Dude, I'm sure he wouldn't turn down a beer. Don't hate.

oh he'll take the beer and drink it.
But then he'll complain about the brand, flavor, coldness of the beer, time of delivery, outside temperature, etc. etc. of a FREE beer.

And then wonder why people hate Florida fans.

You would be pissed too if you had been brought up on Pabst and some asshole had the nerve to buy you a Coors Light.

I recently moved to Charleston SC... A conversation I had when I got here.

:nerd:: So, where did you move from?
:oh::io: I moved here from Columbus Ohio.

:nerd: Yeah? You know you are in SEC country now, right?

:oh::io: Yeah, you know I felt faster when I got down here... must be that SEC speed seeping in.

:nerd: Asshole...

He's just participating in the time honored SEC tradition - claiming opponents fans are bigger rednecks than your fans. It's a skill that's been passed down from generation to generation.

deepsouthsports.net: Who Wouldn't Want to Spend 5 Years With Nick Saban?
When Saban doesn't get a recruit, he in no way acts (or looks) like a spoiled seven-year-old, deprived of his "woobie."

As few may know, yesterday was the first day of spring practice for the Ole Miss Rebels, which was open to the public. It just so happens that somehow Beast/Child 5-Star Hargrave recruit, Bobby Massie was in attendance, on the sidelines with the Rebel proletariat.

Naturally, Bobby was assaulted with fanboy questions. However, one question in particular yielded some interesting bits of tid:
He was asked to give a good Nick Saban recruiting story, and he had a pretty good one to say the least. Bobby said he called Coach Saban the night before signing day to let him know that he was going to sign with Ole Miss. Bobby did not even inform the Ole Miss staff that he was going to be a Rebel until the night before signing day, per Bobby, but he did say, "I had a pretty good idea where I was going in December."

Anyway, Bobby calls Nick and Coach Saban stops him before he tells where he is going and said this, "Bobby, do not even tell me where you are going, because if you are not going to Alabama I am turning you into the NCAA. You know you have a chance to start at Alabama at right tackle as a sophomore, and nobody would turn that down unless they did something illegal."

Bobby was stunned. He said he just listened to Coach Saban rant and never said another word about it. He was offended to say the least. That is why he made such a scene at the press conference when he threw the Alabama hat on the ground and put on an Ole Miss hat.
A chance at starting Right Tackle as a Sophomore with the ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE"!!! Excuse me while I soil myself. How did Massie ever resist that tricky little leprechaun?

Damn it's a great time to be a college football fan in the South. Especially with Dr. Evil living and working just down I-20/59. Even though Nick closed out with one of the strongest signing days in the nation, apparently the world is not enough to satisfy the Prince of Darkness.
Comment section:
I will not hold my breath for your comments on the day when the facts come out about his recruitment and the "tire distributor" who was involved in his recruitment for Ole Miss...there was another recruit from Hargrave that also signed with OM...Hmmm...could said "tire distributor" be from his hometown? I am sure Saban did say those things but I am also sure it did not go exactly as Massie stated...I am sure he told him he knew what was going on illegally with the "millionaire" in MS but then went into his sales job talking about his program. Like I said, we will see who gets the last laugh in this situation. Enough people, including many who are with other schools other than Bama and OM, know what happened here and no, it is not because Massie did not go to Bama but just the facts on why he went to OM...replacing Oher got Massie's attention but tire profits clinched the deal
There is no link. It's copied and pasted from an Ole Miss insider/mod on an private Ole Miss message board.

Someone regurgitated it on tigerdroppings and I'm guessing that lead to it getting out to several blogs.
Butch, don't worry. Tire Man doesn't win every battle. For instance, he couldn't match the going rate to keep Dwayne Rudd and Deshea Townsend from heading to Tuscaloosa. Apparently Memphis Bama Booster $ is bigger than Batesville Tire $. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. But, look on the bright side. Business seems to be booming over in Gadsden for you guys. Cheer up, Charlie Brown.

I'd just like to say one thing: I spoke to some of Bobby's family and they said 98% of your blog is a lie.

They had nothing by positive things to say about Coach Saban and how he was recruited. The deciding factor was the chance to play left tackle...you know, the money spot on the OL.

Btw, I have passed this blog on to some people who are looking into a slander suit. If you didnt already know, the SEC and its schools are starting to crack down on this type of thing.

Q: Georgia seems to always come though big when it flies under the radar; is this one of those seasons? Considering how brutal the expectations are in the SEC, is Mark Richt on even the slightest bit of a hot seat? What's the most important position battle to watch for this spring?

A: By Dean Legge from DawgPost.com ? It's certainly possible the Dawgs could be in for a surprise season. Georgia has a challenging schedule, which is not new, but if they can gather a little steam before October they could be dangerous. Losing Stafford and Moreno will hurt, but Joe Cox is a tremendous leader with undervalued physical tools. So goes Joe so goes Georgia.
..

Q: Is Lane Kiffin cleaning house and changing things up for the better at Tennessee, or is he just rubbing people the wrong way? What's the offense going to do to be better?

A; By Randy Moore InsideTennessee.com - Kiffin ran off a few good people but also got rid of some dead wood. Whether he's made the program significantly better or just significantly different, fans are excited that it's not going to be another year of the same old same old. Last March the fan base was the most apathetic I've seen it in 30-plus years covering the Vols. This March the fans are fired up, and so are the players.

How's the offense going to be better? The quarterbacks have fewer responsibilities. The receivers have fewer reads to make. The guards and tackles are no longer flip-flopping. All three groups seemed confused last season. All three groups appear much more poised and confident about what they're doing this spring.

Q: Did Utah expose Alabama or was the Sugar Bowl an aberration? Who will replace John Parker Wilson? Also, what's the key position battle to watch out for in spring ball?

A: By Kirk McNair from BamaMag.com - Alabama Coach Nick Saban has addressed the matter of Alabama having a poor Sugar Bowl game against Utah, although he recognizes that Utah was a good football team. It is the Saban nature to make every experience a learning example, so expect the Crimson Tide to come out stronger as a result of the Sugar Bowl. There were extenuating circumstances, although "settling" for the Sugar Bowl probably was not among them. It may have been disappointing for a team that spent five weeks at number one to lose the Southeastern Conference Championship Game to Florida, but going to New Orleans is not a disappointment. A far bigger factor was losing left tackle Andre Smith for the game just days before kickoff. Alabama's patchwork offensive line was ineffective, giving Utah ball possessions and confidence.
...

Q: What's the first thing Gene Chizik is working on at Auburn? Are the pieces in place for Gus Malzahn to do what he wants to? Also, what's the key position battle to watch out for in spring ball?

A: By Mark Murphy from AUTigers.com - The first thing Gene Chizik and his staff will be concerned with when spring practice starts is installing their offensive and defensive schemes so there will be a lot of teaching on the practice field.

On Malzahn, Auburn's new offensive coordinator has inherited enough talent to make significant improvement in the offense this season, but there is no doubt that he will be counting on help from signees who won't be on campus until this summer.
...

Q: Is Jordan Jefferson absolutely, positively the main man for the LSU offense? Besides better quarterback play, what's the main reason why last year was such a stunning disappointment? What's the most important position battle to watch for this spring?

A: By Sonny Shipp from TigersSportsDigest.com - I think as Jefferson, assuming he is your starter, goes then so will the Tigers. However, while I think he's the key, I think Charles Scott will be just as important. I think the lack of leadership affected last year's team in a big way. The QB play hurt but not having that one person that everyone looks at as the leader to rally the troops was missing. Receiver and defensive end will be two areas to watch.
