From what I saw this weekend both LSU and Ole Miss had their bacon saved by their opportunistic defenses. I didn't see any of the UGA game but South Carolina had what 7 points?

I think the "great defenses or shitty offenses?" debate will be used early and often in discussing the SEC this year.

we did. In the LSU vs Washington game thread.

i realize this is probably a foreign concept to you since Auburn ain't good enough to actually have a game thread here.
But apparentley we're good enough to handle our first week challenge. Instead of almost slipping up against a team that lost every game they played last year.

dude, y'all played La Fucking Tech.

We've played them 18 times and have given up a total of 42 points to them in our history (that would be 127 points fewer than y'all gave them in only 12 games)
So sorry if I'm not impressed when I see someone up by only 3 in the 3rd quarter of a HOME game against them.

I fail to see how beating a team by 8 to hand them their 15th straight loss is any more impressive than us beating a team coming off of a bowl win from last year by 24.

we beat a team from a BCS conference.
something Auburn hasn't done since last September.

Georgia has lost its starting LT for the season. Trinton Sturdivant ruptured his ACL (same injury as last year) against Okie State this weekend.

Doctors will evaluate Sturdivant this week and advise him on his options. Originally it was believed his playing days would be over. His medical redshirt was used last year - so he could not save his 2009 eligibility.

Wishing the young man the best...

Seems like a time when the special exemption for an additional medical redshirt should be a no-brainer. Tough break for the kid.
