2009 Rivals/Scout/etc. National & Regional Rankings

Alot of the names are right, although i wonder where Mewhort is.. there was a reason he got a very early offer from OSU...

That being said, i dont agree too much with the order they put the guys in..

Fellows and Klein are way too low... I like Jamie Wood alot but i dont think he's a better prospect than John Simon.. cmon..

Davis and Chris Williams are a little suprising too... there are alot of players with bigtime offers already (from Ohio) not on the list, but these two are.. thought that was a little puzzling

I was about to ask you about that, too, along w/your opinion of Golden's impressive 111.

It's odd to me because Rivals talked Mewhort up a bit and how they liked his frame...6'6 293 is pretty impressive to go along with his film. Golden I like but I think he could be a tad high. Fellows is WAY low, Carridine should be on there, and John Simon is the best player in Ohio, not Turner, Hall, or anyone else imo. He is a 5 star talent and I don't get how he is #38...oh well, hopefully he hits the combine circuit.

According to Jeremy Crabtree Jamie Wood is the #1 player in Ohio...

Hey, im not gonna complain about one of our commits getting love like that.. but once again looks like Rivals just doesnt get it when it comes to the best of the best in Ohio..

They fought members like myself for months and months last yr regarding Mike Adams.. and of course at the end, they finally got a clue..

Much the same with John Simon... everyone knows John Simon is the best player in Ohio.. he's been the best defensive player for two yrs running now.. yet Rivals already has issues with him.. dont get me wrong they do have him #38 which is at least better than where they had Adams... but ive already heard from the Rivals staff that Simon may not be big enough for DT.. he's not quick enough.. etc..

Im sure these things will work themselves out.. but I'll be fighting that Rivals staff all yr regarding Simon, Klein, and Fellows.. i just dont get their rankings

I agree with everything said here...I think the problem is they don't really take into account what people around the state are saying and along those lines, they don't really have anyone that is strictly Ohio, midwest that does a good job of evaluating the players...

Scout has BobL, Greg Powers, and the guys from the ohiostate scout board...

it may for some half baked talking head, but in my mind nope. not even a little. kids got stupid amounts of potential. but until he at the very least puts on a set of pads in practice. any talk of him having any form of impact on offense let alone taking anything to any other level is premature at best.

personally im just happy we got him. im really looking forward to watching him progress as a player and a person for the next 3 to 5 years.

I don't think us getting to back-to-back titles will hurt us too much. Yes, we lost both, but we were good enough to get there twice. Add that to the fact that we're returning a ridiculous amount of talent and I'd say we'll be top five. :)

all the too early to call polls i have seen have us top 5 or real close to it. with an away game at USC and a big 10 schedule, we very literally control our own destiney. besides, from what little i have seen the media seemed very understanding of our trip to nola.
