2009 Polls - Regular and Pre-Season

and nothing i can do about that now, but take the ribbing that comes with that.

you should spend more time hanging around here, if Ohio State wins out they are Rose Bowl bound against a Pac-10 opponent, I (and most other Ohio State fans) do not give a shit about the SEC or LSU at this point, there will be no ribbing around these parts

If anything the computers should be given more weight.

Agreed. Rankings by set formulas have no regional bias, popularity bias, agendas, or anything else that the human polls get criticized for. If TCU is in the top 8, it's because of their on-the-field performance.

have u seen what we are ranked in the six computer polls?

Are you implying that the validity of a poll is based on the ranking of the team you root for?

Sure, aren't they all?

Seriously, when you have 2 losses and you're in the Big Ten, rankings don't mean diddledick. A date in Pasadena with Arizona (who didn't know that was coming?) or Oregon or whoever is still a hell of a year. Win that game, and our final ranking will be good regardless. But we have to get there first.

The computer polls aren't really designed to be accurate until the end of the year because the ones that consider SOS don't take into account future opponents, only past. Outside of USC and some help from Navy, we're pretty back-loaded, schedule wise. With the PSU win we shot up from 21 to 13 in computer rankings. If we beat Iowa we will easily be in the top 10. Actually at that point, the computer ranking may be higher than the human poll.

Unfortunately, as is becoming the norm, we will be getting no BCS help from that school up north, SOS wise.

got no response to that one.
we played 2 top 3 teams, and lost both of them.

were in both games, and probably could've (should've) at least split them.
but we blew it, and nothing i can do about that now, but take the ribbing that comes with that.
Oh, you could beat the shit out of somebody in a bowl game. That would be nice.

i don't normally hop on the bandwagon of any SEC team other than LSU, but if y'all would be so kind as to completely prison rape those pricks from Tuscaloosa, that would be quite nice.

It's been so lovely since 1992, I would hate to have that end and return to the days of the insufferable Tahd and the Clan of the Dead Bear.

Julio down the sideline. :smash: I threw up in my mouth a little.

Just how did Jones manage to avoid being tackled?
