With the 97th pick in the 2009 BP Mock Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select...

Kevin Ellison, SS, Southern Cal

Kansas City is on the clock...

Great pick for the Cowboys. They needed a playmaker at the strong safety position and Ellison fits the bill. Overshadowed by Mays and the LB corps at USC, Ellison is an excellent value as a sleeper, bringing size and athleticism to the table. More importantly, he can support the run but also drop into coverage, unlike Roy Williams.

Louis is an interesting pick. He's a big receiver with home-run hitting speed who flashed dominance throughout his senior season. His production has been spotty the past two seasons, yet Murphy is another prospect who will offer a lot in return for the team that gets him running on all cylinders. The question I have is whether they can get him to that level consistently. Florida WRs don't have the best track record in this league, but at this point in the draft, it's a minor gamble.

I love this pickup for St. Louis. Jarius Byrd is a dynamic athlete, both on the defensive side of the ball and in the return game. Paired with Tye Hill, he brings great size and solid tackling ability to a rebuilding Rams defense. Good pick.

The NFL is a Copycat League... and when I look at Domonique Johnson, I see teams trying to find the next Rodgers-Cromartie (who was drafted trying to find the next Cromartie). He brings excellent size to the table at 6'2" 200 lbs and solid production from the cornerback spot. Obvious question marks exist about the level of competition, but this has the potential to be a good value pick for the Browns organization.
