Bobby Knight is a moron in addition to being an a-hole, and Bucky were the heroes! 9th in the conference? Really?

I'm glad Wisconsin could come through for the conference and finally propel the 11 over the hump. The streak was embarrassing a while ago. Now the 11 needs to start their own for redemption.

Congrats, Bernini. How much better do Penn State, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Illinois look right now? Michigan and Minnesota are real disappointments -- still, the conference looks tough, and winning the Challenge s going to do a lot for hype and reputation, and may help everyone's seedings in March.

Great, great win for the Big Ten after a decade of frustration, and an awesome win for Ohio State, who dominated FSU from the opening tip.

Could you imagine when this challenge started years ago, predicting that the Big Ten's first win would occur with Sparty, scUM, Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota being the losing teams?

Funny how things work out. :biggrin:

Illinois deserves major props for the resolve they exhibited against a talented Clemson team led by Trevor Booker. They could have easily folded down 20+, especially as a young team on the road. If not for the comeback, we would have been dead already I believe. Illinois is much better than I thought they'd be largely because of the fabulous frosh Brandon Paul. He has good size for a guard, is a superb athlete, and is very skilled. Pick your poison when trying to defend him one on one. Going to be a great one in the conference for a number of years, unless he declares as an underclassman.

Michigan is a major disappointment to me. They don't nearly play up to their talent level and shouldn't be 3-3 on that criteria. Harris is a stud, and Sims is pretty good, but they aren't playing as a team, and their defense is suspect.

Purdue (#1 IMO) and MSU are going to be the favorites. But the Buckeyes certainly have a shot with Turner being a go-to guy, making players better, and playing good defense. You'd be remiss to ever think Wisconsin isn't a threat to take home the title, especially w/ early wins over Duke, Maryland, and Arizona; when they usually suck out of conference. Illinois might be a sleeper, although it's probably a year too early for them. The Golden Showers are overrated and dead in the water, IMO. Losses to Portland, TAMU, and Miami already? They were lucky to even be in the discussion for the tourney last year with all their close wins. Why did they receive all the preseason hype? They can suck my d***. But they still add to the solid depth of the conference. Should be a fun year for many.

Easy now. The last thread RR supporters are still hanging onto is the reward they have gotten by being patient with Beilein.
