Ohio State women's basketballThe top 10 in the Associated Press poll didn't change, which isn't a surprise. Nobody lost and Connecticut still is receiving all 40 No. 1 votes.
Stanford is No. 2 followed by the Buckeyes, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Tennessee, LSU, Baylor, Xavier and Texas A&M respectively. Duke is No. 11 and will host Ohio State on Thursday night in the Big Ten/ACC challenge. It is the first meeting between the two programs.
A third Ohio team, Dayton, is in the top 25 for the first time in its porgram history. Mississippi State and San Diego State (where Beth Burns coaches) each lost three games and disappeared from the rankings.
Third ranked in both polls, 8-0 with good wins. And I can't imagine UConn is feeling very safe if they have to face us right now.mercurial1;1611192; said:What's their record?
Did I hear correctly that they're undefeated going into the Wisconsin game?
Sorry for not reading all the post if it's up there.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. UConn is on another level right now, I think they'd beat us 9 of 10 if we played right now. I watched the Cal game and we have some work to do before we can give UConn or even Stanford a serious run for their money. I think defense and rebounding are problems we need to make vast improvements in before March. A team with Stanford's size could really do a number on us with offensive boards if we rebound like we did against Cal. Still a long way to go and most importantly a lot of time to improve. In the Jim Foster era, this is easily the best we've looked this early in the year which is a very good sign and if we can show steady improvement during the year then this team has a chance to be special.MajesticTurkey;1611224; said:Third ranked in both polls, 8-0 with good wins. OSU-Wisconsin preview | BuckeyeXtraSunday, December 6, 2009 3:26 AM
2 p.m. today
? Where: Value City Arena
? TV: Big Ten Network
? Radio: WOSU-AM (820)
? Records: Ohio State 8-1; Wisconsin 7-1
? Matchup to watch: Watch to see if the Ohio State guards deliver passes with conviction and if the intended recipient moves to the ball the same way. Duke made a habit Thursday of turning bad passes and slow reflexes into layups in its 83-67 upset win over the Buckeyes.
? Notable: The Badgers won their Big Ten/ACC challenge game by smothering North Carolina State defensively in a 53-48 victory. Wisconsin's one loss is to always-tough mid-major Wisconsin Green Bay 60-58. The Badgers are limiting opponents to 53.2 points per game and 35.1 percent field-goal shooting. ... The Buckeyes are 0-3 in the Big Ten/ACC challenge. Ohio State shot 36.8 percent in the loss and committed 21 turnovers that resulted in 27 points. Jantel Lavender set a Cameron Indoor Stadium record with 18 rebounds. She also hit the first three-point field goal of her career. She was 0 for 3 before the make.
? Next: at Mississippi, 2 p.m. Sunday
