On practice
"One guy that I have seen that has really stepped it up to that next level is Devon Torrence. He is explosive and has been working on both sides of the ball for us this spring."

"He is getting better and better every day. He is one of those guys that tries to do too much too fast. I sat him down and told him 'Taurian we don?t need you tomorrow, but August 30 that is when we need you to be ready.'"

Brian Robiskie, senior wide receiver

On having to sit out
"It has been really tough. I have really worked on trying to be more of a leader and it is hard when you have to sit back and watch."

On being a leader
"I like working with the younger guys. I?m not that much of a vocal guy, but when the young guys just keep asking you stuff you grow into that vocal leader."

Brian Hartline, junior wide receiver

"Dane is doing a really good job for us this spring. He is staying consistent, working hard and playing fast. He is keeping balance and becoming very comfortable with his role on the team."

On his own progress
"I feel a lot better and improving everyday. It is interesting to see how you grow after the season is over. I?m becoming more comfortable and am ready to jump into spring."

ESPN - Ranking the Big Ten wide receivers/tight ends - Big Ten

2. Brian Robiskie, Sr., WR, Ohio State -- He averaged 17 yards a catch and had the third most touchdown catches (11) in the league last season. Now imagine what Robiskie will do without a torn meniscus in his knee that required offseason surgery. A deep threat on a squad with several of them, Robiskie is on the brink of a big season.

9. Brian Hartline, Jr., WR, Ohio State -- Don't forget about Ohio State's other Brian, who collected 52 receptions for 694 yards and six touchdowns last fall. As Robiskie stretches the field, Hartline provides an excellent complement who goes over the middle and absorbs contact. He turned in an excellent spring as Robiskie recovered from injury.

TEAM
1. Ohio State -- Finding a third option remains on Ohio State's to-do list, but few teams boast a better passing tandem than the Brians. After a season to jell with quarterback Todd Boeckman, Robiskie and Hartline will punish defenses worrying about Heisman Trophy candidate Beanie Wells.

I'd like to see this....

#1 Robo
#2 Hartline
#3 Small (IF and ONLY IF he can earn it back) if not then Torrence
#4 Sanzenbacher/Washington

Time will tell, and this years WR corps will be a good one to watch

Owing to that extra experience, OSU wide receivers coach Darrell Hazell said Sanzenbacher has a leg up on Washington heading into the 2008 season.
"They?re completely different players," Hazell said. "Taurian's is probably a little more raw than Dane is right now. He?s got tremendous upside. Dane's got probably a little bit better grasp right now of the offense. I think that in terms of ability, both bring something really good to the table.”

He's been described as a vert good technician and has also been known for his intelligence on the playing field.

Sanzenbacher saw 89 minutes of action last year, nearly four times as much as Washington (27). That experience is still paying off for Sanzenbacher, he said, as he works to better understand the whole offense. Last season, Sanzenbacher had memorized the entire playbook before fall camp began.

Memorized the playbook before fall camp! I wonder what page he's one right now?

"I feel like I?ve tried to work on that probably more than anything, just the whole knowledge of what I?m supposed to be doing," he said. "I feel like anywhere that?s going to give you an advantage, because if you go out there and you know what you?re going to do before you even have to go out there and do it."

Does anyone think he's making the most of this opportunity? I'm sure there are some very good examples on this team, he may be one of them.

I never really was Dane's biggest fan.. and honestly I rooted against him winning the 3rd WR slot since he got here.

But from the impressions of camp and the hard work he's put in in addition to his skills, he's more than earned it and he's earned a ton of respect and admiration from me.
