I will admit that the only USC game that I have watched was the Ohio State game but I think they have a very good offensive and defensive line. Some of their guys have been hurt during the season but when they are at full strength they are very solid team.
I watched the Oregon State-USC game. They lost to an average team that's been defeated by Stanford and Utah, and blown out by Penn State. In my view, USC should be behind teams that have played a tough schedule and only have 1 loss to a highly ranked team - like Georgia and Oklahoma. I think it can be argued either way right now between USC and Florida, LSU, and Missouri (I've got them behind Florida, but ahead of the other two). But over the rest of the season, USC won't have to beat anybody in the top 15 besides tOSU (if the Buckeyes stay there), and if any of those teams win their conference and only have 1 loss; they'll have a much better resume over the course of the season than USC.
It's not USC's fault, their non-conference schedule of at Virginia, tOSU, and Ntre Ame shows they weren't trying to schedule patsies. But Virginia is pretty bad, and Ntre Ame isn't ranked, although they could be if they beat both BC and Pitt. But the Pac 10 is really down this year. Oregon losing at home to Boise State hurt, and the conference having a record of 1-6 (last time I checked) against the Mountain West is pretty damning.
