2008 Preseason and Regular season Polls

We should be more in the range from 9-11. Texas, Auburn, Texas Tech, South Florida(in the AP) and Oregon (in the Coaches) are all overrated.

And we got man handled by USC and struggled with OU...14 is fine, it doesn't really matter... Win the Big Ten and we go to the rose bowl no matter where we are ranked.

What have we done besides have a high pre season ranking to even deserve to be in the top 25?

For some reason I have a feeling this maybe a good thing...be out of the spotlight for a little bit and bring everyone back down to earth. We will be ok, we will bounce back. I actually pictured us to be lower say around 20.

Ohio State football: Buckeyes trade spots in polls

by Doug Lesmerises Sunday September 21, 2008, 1:29 PM

A 28-10 win over Troy made Ohio State wiggle just a bit in the two major polls.
The Buckeyes moved up from No. 14 to No. 13 in the coaches poll, but dropped from No. 13 to No. 14 in the AP poll.
In the coaches poll, the Buckeyes were jumped by Penn State but moved past Oregon and Auburn, which both lost.
In the AP poll, the Buckeyes were jumped by Penn State and BYU but moved past Auburn.
The top four in each poll stayed the same from last week - USC, followed by Oklahoma, Georgia and Florida.

Jumped by State Penn? After they beat down Temple for the millionth time? You can't be serious? I guess there is a very negative perception out there. Guess we'll just have to start by beating #8 Wisconsin at their place. Then we'll get State Penn in our place for a beat down.

If they're ranked ahead, there will be a potential upset at the Shoe, at night this year. I would like that.

Ohio State football: Make your poll case for the Buckeyes

by Doug Lesmerises Sunday September 21, 2008, 3:10 PM

OK, getting some feedback from a few poll experts out there.
Here's your place to make a case for the Buckeyes.
First, to answer one question about me ranking Auburn one spot ahead of Ohio State. Does anyone actually watch the games or look at the scores?
Auburn lost to LSU, the team now ranked No. 5, by 5 points and had the lead until LSU scored with 1:03 to play.
Ohio State lost to USC, the team now ranked No. 1, by 32 points and had the lead at 3-0 in the first quarter.
Auburn is ahead of Ohio State in the full AP poll, but if you want me to rank Auburn behind Ohio State just because the Tigers lost to No. 5 and the Buckeyes lost to No. 1, while ignoring how the games played out, then we're using different criteria.
Actually, I'm still surprised Ohio State is ranked as high as it is.
