I think he's top 10 material, but what helps him the most are the needs of the 3-4 teams in the top 10. He's a versatile guy, but everyone seems to think that he'll flourish in a 3-4 scheme. Can't say I disagree.

I also have a hunch that both having the scouts see him in person and his workouts will help. Just a hunch.

Probably not THE only one, but one of the very few most definitely.

I think you know as well as well as everybody else that it all depends on what the needs of the teams are that have the top 10 picks. I think if someone needs a standout linebacker (possibly New England) she would be an excellent fit with his speed. Reminds me of Wembley (sp?) Of the Browns with more size.

I thought Mario at #1 (over Bush, etc) was a big stretch, after being a very inconsistent player at NC State... but he's coming around well. Assuming Big Vern goes top-10, the NFL sure loves to "reach" on buckeyes in the top-10. Donte, Ginn & Vern...

According to our main source in Indianapolis, Atlanta Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall is being shopped league wide. Per the source, there are 7 teams interested in Hall, but the New York Giants have the best offer on the table, right now. Dallas is in it and Jerry Jones has asked for permission to talk numbers. The Cowboys may offer their second first rounder.
The word at the convention center that comes from DeAngelo Hall directly is that Rod Coleman and Alge Crumpler and himself are being cleared out because of their support of Michael Vick and the fact that the teams' new G.M. is from the Patriots and wants to scrub the lockeroom clean. Teams interested in Hall that our source has confirmed are: Dallas, New York Giants, Tennessee, Miami, Buffalo, New Orleans and Kansas City.

• Both Darren McFadden, Rashard Mendenhall and Jonathan Stewart have all confirmed that they plan to run this weekend. I cannot WAIT to see that on Sunday!!! Stewart checked in at 235 lbs. and Mendenhall was 225 lbs. McFadden was 211 lbs. and he will do the 40, broad jump and vert.

I don't see him as a stretch at all. He's freakishly strong, has a great burst, is very versatile and has the film to back it up. If he has an eye-popping workout in Indy, I wouldn't be surprised to hear his name mentioned number one overall more often. It already has (linked in his thread) by some bloggers. I could see Big Vern as a Shawn Merriman type in the league.

1.) Look at any of his photos
2.) Rewatch the play in the Iowa game in 2006 where he yanked down the Iowa RB with one hand...you could hear the crowd on TV go "Oooooohhh!".
