2008 Football Rumblings

Cunningham started out a major league asshole in his coverage of the 2003 OSU vs NCSU game. Since then, for whatever reason, his scriptwriter at ESPN has toned it down quite a bit.

He was very fair and complimentary doing last years UW/OSU game.

He also was singing our praises throughout the 2004 Fiesta Bowl against Kansas State. He also did our blowout of Northwestern at home the game immediately after the Washington game. I have zero problems with the way Cunningham has covered Ohio State.

If Hooley was a Buckeye optimist or cheerleader, chances are everyone here would love him for it--he's a local-radio hack on a station called "The Fan", personally I think he should be more of a homer than the "journalist"/critic he tries to be, which is why I spend that time listening to Mark the Shark and Jeff Logan these days.
my view is that hes just not on the spot. i dont care if hes positive or negative if i think his views are accurate and on spot. sometimes hes ok, often times he just doesnt have the eyeball feel. i personally think hes like taos, often times on the spot but often times leaves me wonder what the heck hes taking about, or what hes been smoking or questioning if we watched the same game...

This seems a bit shortsighted. Hitler's problem was strength of schedule. The schedule makers really screwed things up for him.

Eh, It was his own fault they had to go to Russia. Everybody tried to warn him about taking on the Russians on their home turf in the winter. Stubborn pride.

yeah but if willingham hadn't left the team in such disarray in the first place hitler would have been in a much better situation to succeed. while he did recruite really well, he didn't have enough senior leadership. willingham could have, and should have, left him with a much better foundation on which to build.

I agree that Hooley is pretty much full of shit. But.....would everyone on here be chiding him if he was reporting that he heard great things about TP when the word coming out of practice was less than stellar?
we'd probably be ambivalent towards such a low-totem pole (in the "insight" realm) observation.
