I know michigan is the game of all games for us and I'll always look at them as dangerous... but if there's a year where we should pound them its this year...

They have zero QB's, lost their best players on the oline, lost their all everythign running back, they are breakin in new recievers, and they are losing some good chunks of talent on defense too..

I'll always respect UM, but damn thats a lot to replace
Don't kid yourself about the Qb . And the last I looked their recruiting class was higher than ours , unless we passed them with pryor

That may make them dangerous. Bunch of young guys with nothing to lose. But wouldn't it be nice to win The Game by about 20 this year?

Please explain.

FYI, yes we did pass them with the Pryor commitment but does it really matter? Did anyone honestly think they had a better class than us even without Pryor?

Ohio state football
For coaches, sharing secrets a rite of spring

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

The members of the Ohio State football coaching staff expect a warm reception at whatever schools they visit this spring.
After all, two years ago, the Buckeyes visited Florida during the spring. Last season, they visited Louisiana State. Ohio State fans don't need to be reminded that those teams beat OSU in the past two national championships.
"Maybe when we call this year, they'll want us to come," OSU offensive coordinator Jim Bollman said with a chuckle.
It's a time-honored tradition of the coaching fraternity to openly share information with opponents in the offseason. Staffs across the country get together to talk philosophy, new ideas, techniques, just about everything.
"It's amazing that this profession is willing to help one another and share ideas," OSU coach Jim Tressel said. "That's one of the things you love about it."

I can see what you saying, and the concern is legit; and while I'm trying not going to rule out anything - the differences in talent on both sides of the ball are stellar. I mean, they're going to have a young QB finishing up his first season under the spread, playing in an extremely hostile environment against a fully seasoned, experienced and senior laden Buckeyes who are just as hungry to prove themselves and make it to another NC.

Me thinks we'll be alright. I'm looking foward to USC, Wisconsin and Illinois.
If one is a Buckeye fan and they are not looking forward to the Michigan game, no matter how down Michigan is, they need to have their head examined... IMO.

Always looking forward to the game, its a given every year; an unspoken truth - hence, why it inst mentioned

well ok thats great they recruited because to be honest i want them to be in the top 5 every year when we play them, but we just added a top 5 recruiting class to 20 RETURNING starters. They added a top recruiting class to not much of a base at all.

I'm not sure how the game between us and michigan will go but I have a feeling that the game COULD be ugly.In the shoe, we have a decisive talent advantage, and we have a coach who knows how to get up for this game. Yes, you're right UM could surprise us because potentially they could be playing this game as their last game IMO which could make them dangerous. However, if looking at what our defense has doesn't calm that notion down then I dunno what would.

You have to remember not only are they replacing so much talent on both sides of the ball, they are also breaking in a new style of play. One much different than their use to.

lol yeah i'm not sayin they won't even be able to hand the ball off or be inept at running their offense, but IMO they don't have the personell there yet to run it to its full potential thats all. At times next year they'll look good running it and IMO at other points they'll look lost.

Being that its the last game of the year though, by that time you'd expect their players to have some solid grasp of the system their running though.

Well, they'll show improvement but I don't expect them to have a solid grasp of the system. That'll take a few years. Remember how long it took Rodriguez to get WVU going?

Very well aware; I dont expect them to execute in a flawless way, but I don't see why they can't have some offensive competency.

absolutely Buckeneye.....by the time they get to OSU, they will be sophomores, in terms of experience anyway. And if they get 'thrown to the wolves' early (like Claussen did), they'll get beat up, then flex, and then start to throw back and move forward. Yeah, it'll be a good game, it usually is, and one of the other posters was right, they'll have nothing to lose against the mighty Buckeyes.

Now, on the other hand, our young 'uns will not be so blooded, as the Buckeyes are pretty much a veteran team. Three or four freshmen this year will have added experience, and for the 08 season, I'd expect about another four to play prominent roles (as two's), but will get seasoning.

Buckeyes 34-10.

I wouldn't go as far to say that; I'm just wondering what the youth on the team is going to transfer to in terms of injuries;
high school bodies playing in a faster, harder hitting game. Obviously they'll have off-season S&C program, but still... this could a very ugly season for Tsun.
