Big Brown vs. Greatness

Before Big Brown won the Triple Crown's middle jewel, the Preakness, Big Brown was signed to a multi-year contract with Three Chimneys Farm of Midway, Ky., one valued at between $50 million and $65 million, according to sources. The deal makes Big Brown one of the highest-paid four-legged athletes in history, joining a club that includes Conquistador Cielo, Devil's Bag, Fusaichi Pegasus, Point Given, Shareef Dancer, Smarty Jones and Street Sense -- all of which were signed to record or near-record stud deals worth tens of millions of dollars and were retired from racing as 3-year-olds.

Casino Drive has bruised hoof but remains entered in Belmont

NEW YORK -- Casino Drive has a bruised hoof but there are no plans to scratch the Japanese horse from Saturday's Belmont Stakes.
The Peter Pan Stakes winner skipped his morning workout Friday after his trainer noticed Casino Drive wasn't walking normally.
"We are not 100 percent happy with the movement of the hind leg," said Nobutaka Tada, racing manager for Casino Drive's Japanese connections. "We haven't withdrawn him, just giving him an easy day."
Casino Drive is the early second choice behind Triple Crown favorite Big Brown.
Tada said a veterinarian saw the horse, whose hoof was being treated with ice and heat. Casino Drive is listed as questionable for the race.

I heard something last night on TV that Hooters had some type of financial interest in Big Brown but the person said that you would probably not see the Hooters' colors on his saddle. Does anybody know anything about what I am talking about:huh:

Casino Drive came to Belmont as a challenger to Big Brown's Triple Crown hopes. But a bruised hoof kept him from making it to the starting gate of Saturday's Belmont Stakes.


NEW YORK -- Casino Drive was scratched from the Belmont Stakes hours before the final leg of the Triple Crown on Saturday morning due to a bruised left hind hoof.

i'm pissed. i was going to put 50 across the board on that horse today. i want my v money back too! its going to be so hot out there today. i think i'm going to go with icabad crane (sp?) instead. he's finished in the money in all of his races and he has the best pedigree for the distance in the field. he's in the outside post, but that shouldn't matter at the distance

and my dumb ass made the bet after he was scratched.... way to look at foxsports.com after BP:biggrin:

Casino Drive looked really sore on that hind leg,he was not even wanting to stand on it.
Big Browns patch job on his foot looked great. That quarter crack was worse than I thought. I saw it & they did a great job of patching that up.

GO BIG BROWN!!!!!
