Meanwhile, the US Track & Field team is in the process of landing with as big a "thud" as the men's basketball team did in Athens and the men's hockey team did in Nagano. You gotta wonder if anybody cares about the sport enough anymore to generate a sufficient outcry to spur them to field a better team in London.
Co-sign... a majority the 100m runners and the men's shot putters could all win the gold medal for major suckitude. Terrible showings.

china's star hurdler just withdrew with a bad achilies. i feel terrible for him.
US hurdler Terrence Trammell also got injured (hamstring strain). The hurdles just lost a lot of its luster with those two out. If Robles of Cuba (current world record holder) doesn't win the hurdles now I'll be very surprised.

I'm glad the US won that match, but I'm REALLY glad it went 5 sets. Plenty to look at between points.

So I wasn't the only one glad to see that match go on and on...

Not to mention the protest filed by the US team saying there was a false start in the women's 100m final and the heat shouldn't have counted. It was our own damn runner who supposedly false started! It's one of the most tranparent and pathetic "I want a do-overs" I've ever seen, and I'm embarrassed by it.

BTW, congratulations to Jamaica - the fastest country on Earth!

[quote='BusNative;123228;5]Absolutely amazing run by Bolt. Coolest thing I've seen on the track since MJ's 200m in Atlanta... and Bolt still has to run that event.

Just watched the video. I can't imagine anyone even challenging him in the 200. He ran with such ease in the 100 and still set a WR.

My favorite track event is the 400. Combination of speed and endurance. I thought Johnson was best at that.

+1 to the whole post - I can't wait to see Bolt run the 200... I used to (several pounds and years ago) run middle distance. I love the 400 and 800 races for the same reasons you just named Litl...

Trampoline is now an Olympic event? WTF? Seems like they're just trying to find new ways to give teenage girls gold medals. What's next, text messaging?

Damn, those girls are going ridiculously high. I like this event better than some of the other gymnastics.

I think my niece would pwn text messaging, btw.
