My reaction in emoticons to some of yesterday's performances:

Swimming:
Michael Phelps winning his 8th gold medal:

Dana Torres winning 2 silver medals within 30 minutes: :banger:

Track:
Tyson Gay failing to qualify for the 100m finals: :smash:

Usain "Lightning" Bolt blowing away the 100m field with a world record time of 9.69: :yow1:

Shalane Flanagan finishing 3rd in the women's 10,000m to give the US their second medal ever in the event: :highfive:

The US men shot putters choking in the finals (only one placed and the others threw worse than their preliminary round): :shake:

Bela whining like a little bitch yet again.

:tibor:

Is it too much to hope you kneel over right now? I'd give that a 10.0
You've just been pissed ever since the IOC dropped goat-carrying in Athens....

Congratulations! You are now on the Chinese Women's Gymnastics Team!

Bela may be whining, but he's right. How do you get a medal of any color after landing on your ass?

Meanwhile, the US Track & Field team is in the process of landing with as big a "thud" as the men's basketball team did in Athens and the men's hockey team did in Nagano. You gotta wonder if anybody cares about the sport enough anymore to generate a sufficient outcry to spur them to field a better team in London.
