PREDICTIONS

I'm not going to be foolish enough to predict an App State win. But, our offense will move the ball, and will score, on tsun's defense. I'm just not sure our defense can stop their offense. But, if we can come up with a key turnover or two, this game can be much closer than people expect. A couple of more specific predictions:

Whatever the spread is, App State will beat it.

App State will score multiple times on tsun's starting defense.

Kevin Richardson will equal or better Mike Hart's rushing yards.

App State will get at least one pick (two or more, and look out!)

tOSU fans will enjoy watching App State give tsun fits.
:osu:

Well, actually I did want to predict an App State win, but I was afraid I'd sound foolish. Just sayin . . .

When you give up 34 points, 387 total yards, get beat in time of possesion 31:12 to 28:48, and lose to a 1-AA team your defense must really be SHIT.

I think so. He's working with the Shitshow Twins at corner, breaking in some new backers etc....He made some good adjustments at half, but it wasn't enough.
My question is, where is the evidence of his coaching pedigree? Who has he coached up? I know UM's talent has been lacking a bit in the secondary, but it's hard to identify his coaching.

OTOH, the LB coaching between 05 & 06 was obvious... dramatic difference. They did have better clay to mold, but the improvements were dramatic.
I still want him as the next coach
Do you think English is the perfect coach, or is it more a preference over Carr and his twin Debord?

Well, the defense improved drastically from 05 to 06. Had the majority of the same players, and they were significantly better. He's not 100% proven, let's not kid ourselves. He still needs work, but I'd take him over Lloyd.

For the second part, I'd say it's a bit of both. English is a great recruiter, young, energetic, fiery, in your face etc....everything Lloyd isn't. If DeBord becomes the coach I will be tempted to change my favorite team. His idea of a creative play is TEs running intersecting crossing routes. God I hate him. Loved the Mallett at TE call though. There's no fucking way UM with all of their firepower should only score 32 points vs. Appalachian State. We need an O-coordinator who will take the shackles off this playbook. Shit, if it's 3rd and 12, go 5 wide or something like that. Creativity, please.

One of my first thoughts after the end of this game was.

"Whats this going to do for Michigan recruiting?"

whoever has committed this year, is probably like "oh fuck"

whoever hasn't committed this year, is probably rearranging their "top 5"

did anyone see Mike Hart in post game news conference... he was laughing. He said.. they lost because of small mistakes etc.

good going. I didn't hear him say they got beat. not once.
You must have had your scarlet ear plugs in. He said that App. State were the better team and that they were one of the fastest teams he's ever gone up against.
