Tom Savage to Rutgers!!! I just got an e-mail from a buddy telling me Michigan lost out on another QB prospect...Damn Michigan your down to Forcier(staying west coast) and Newsome. RR better get newsome (VT IMO will get him in the end) or your fucked again.

ESPN scouting report:
Savage is a big, thick pocket passer that happens to be a very good, underrated athlete and runner. He has a huge arm to be able to place the ball into tight spots and also stretch the field-- can make any throw.

Sound like anyone you know?

Threet is a pocket passer with fantastic measurables and a big arm. Has ideal size and is a better athlete than you might think. Has the arm to place the ball anywhere on the field and is very accurate.

I wouldn't say Savage wasn't on our radar as goblue15 is claiming, but we sure weren't recruiting him hard. His offer came during the Carr era.

Clarification. No doubt someone is going to read this as me saying Threet is just as good as Savage. All indications would be that Savage is the more talented quarterback with a higher ceiling. My point is with the styles. If Threet is not a fit for RR's system, neither is Savage.

Savage wasnt even on our Radar! Newsome is very high on us, get your facts straight. I also expect us to get Eugene Smith or Shavodrick Beaver. BTW what Warren rumors are you guys talking about? Warren aint going anywhere!

That may very well be true, but that rumor is from a UM website! Boren! Wasn't! Going! Anywhere! Either!

The fact remains that Michigan lost out on another top 15 QB prospect!! Sugar coat it any way you want to. There are two studs left and one is definately a pipedream. If Michigan fans think they are getting forcier they are sniffin crack. Newsome like Michigan now but in the end VT will get him. Another QB prospect bites the dust...its only april but damn its not looking good for the weinies.

Newsome is high on you in April...GMAFB. When you pussies lose to Utah and have espn and every other CFB fan laughing their asses off at you again this year maybe his love for you clowns will die a little. My buddies in Bama are still laughing at you guys. Michigan was the laughing stock of CFB. Maybe the biggest upset in CFB history...if not damn close.

You're the only one making an issue out of it. I'm kind of curious how we "lose out" on a prospect we weren't actively recruiting. If every single recruit that goes elsewhere is a sign of the apocalypse, may as well drop both of us down to D-III right now. Otherwise, stop getting your information from five-month old sources.

Tom Savage himself a while back said when RR became the new coach at Michigan they did not contact him, yet he was still interested in them. And when people see him commit to Rutgers or whoever he commits to tomorrow, it'll say they beat out Michigan because he has a Michigan offer that was given by Lloyd Carr, and never refuted by Rich Rod. I think it's pretty obvious if we don't contact the dude lately, we're not really losing him.

Going through his articles on Rivals from the day we hired RR @ Michigan, the only time Michigan was mentioned was when they were stating he had an offer from them. If Newsome, Tate Forcier, Eugene Smith, or Shavodrick Beaver committed elsewhere, then we lost out on our of targets, but unfortunately Tom wasn't one of them.

I don't happen to think DW will leave, but many kids considering transferring are often asked to get through the spring, see where thing stand, then make a decision. I don't see that being as relevant with DWar (as say Cone, or other journeymen), but I thought I'd toss that out there.

Its OSU's gain...heres the logic. When PSU loses a top 15 QB and is in the same boat as Michigan with a pipedream they might get forcier as a second option that really hurts them. Michigan better get a QB to fit RR system this year...they better get 2 actually. Michigan doesn't have the time to be fucking around. Hes got one year where he can use the transistion excuse...next year the honeymoon is over. If Tressel continues to beat Michigan and go to BCS game/NCG the programs are gonna continue to go in seperat directions. What happens if RR gets fired in 3 years and they have to recruit players to fit a different system than RR runs. I don't think hes the miracle worker Michigan fans make him out to be.

Newsome is by far the best QB on Michigans radar. What if he waits till near signing day to commit? Is Michigan gonna gamble on telling other QB's they have someone else in mind or are they gonna let another "lesser qb" commit and possibly hurt their chances with Newsome.

I'm truly sitting here laughing at the weinies. RR this and RR that...the guys still has no fucking QB!!! BTW I'm looking forward to that Utah game.

The DWarren trade rumours did have credence back in January. Before we got ourself a defensive coordinator and right after Ron English left he was thinking about leaving. Ron English was basically the entire reason he came out here to Michigan, that and the fact he could start for 3 years and (maybe) bolt to the NFL instead of having serious competition at USC. :tongue2: So English leaving was a big deal for him. He's taking a liking to Shafer and to our new defensive philosphy, but so did Boren with the strength program so you can take it FWIW.

No, actually the Boren transfer came out of nowhere. If Warren was going to leave he would have left already.

Not when Mario Manningham was telling combine participants that Boren was probably going to transfer.

Not saying it was in the works for months, but that was several weeks before it happened.

I believe some insiders on the board had heard rumblings as well, but I don't want to put words in anayones mouth.

How does one "lose out" on someone they never offered...

A Buckeye insider mentioned Boren possibly transferring o/a 10MAR08. At the time, I blew it off.
