I still wonder about Domonick Britt. WVU was high on his list earlier, and he decommitted from Cincy. If RR was recruiting him to WVU I can't imagine RR wouldn't still be in touch. Though, I think WVU had been recruiting him as a WR.

I come here for the back-and-forth and the arguments, but there's a fine line between that (which is fun) and Troll Territory (which is dumb) and I'm gonna step back before I put any more toes across that line, 'cause I catch myself making posts for the sake of getting a reaction from certain people.

Anyway, Michigan recruiting. I seem to remember myself making a guarantee that one of a list of five quarterbacks would end up at Michigan, and silly me, I left Daniels off the list, and all of them but Pryor and Britt have committed. So I'm taking a mulligan and adding Daniels. Seems like everything about him is screaming "I'm waiting til Pryor commits", which really is excellent news for Michigan because I think it's been USF and schools of that ilk which are Michigan's competition.

Somehow talk in the TSUN recruiting thread turned to Robo and what caliber of a reciever he is. Sniper had an opinion that Robo is not even second round talent, in contrast to what the NFL paperwork and scouts certainly more qualified than any of us have said, and was uncharacteristically beligerent about it. I for one can say that I feel Sniper normally brings great insight and friendly banter to this board so I think it was just a moment of temporary insanity and some very poor chosen words in reply to a Mod. Hopefully he will return after the imposed ban and continue to bring his normal and welcome thoughts here. Disagreement is okay, hell without it this board wouldn't be what it is. But there are lines and if you cross them then punishment is in order.

HTM, I think everyone down here appreciate what you and Sniper bring to BP. I'm sure it is easy to go "overboard" and post things over the edge. I know I would have a difficult time holding my tongue (fingers ) it I were to venture over to a TSUN board and I saw my beloved Bucks being bashed.

Hopefully the Planet can continue to attract quality posters from across the College football landscape, like you and Sniper, Gator, some of the guys from Texas (don't see much from them anymore) some of the LSU folks, of course Methomps (USC) and the new Illini fans and NDChief. You guys help make the Planet what it is.

He talked about a variety of topics ranging from the Detroit Lions to the MSU and Ohio State rivalries to Lloyd Carr and Rich Rodriguez. Below is a sampling of his answers to questions comparing U-M's rivals MSU and Ohio State.

Larry Foote: It's been definitely painful the past couple of the years, because going to Michigan, it's a one-game season. You gotta beat Ohio State, and if you don't, it's a bad year. I don't care if you're 15-0 and you lose to Ohio State, it's a bad year. I tell guys I took a lot of stuff from the Appalachian State game, and I told them I'd rather lose to them and beat Ohio State. I'd rather lose to Wayne State and beat Ohio State. So we gotta beat Ohio State, I don't care what we do. So Rich Rodriguez, go 0-10, but beat the Buckeyes.

Wojo: So beating the Buckeyes is considerably more important that beating the Spartans?

LF: Yes, yes it is. I always bash Michigan State so I'm going to bash them now. Michigan State is like our little sister. They get on our nerves sometimes, but we take care of them.

LF: If one of my kids, if they're listening, if you think about going there, I'll disown you.

Stoney: Would you rather your kid go to Michigan State or Ohio State?

LF: Ohio State.

Wojo: Oh my goodness! Larry!

LF: They're not a rival, they're our little sisters, they're not a rival. I mean, there's a game, you always circle it because you want to beat them, it's a fun game, but our attention is on Ohio State. We dream and think about them all season long and even in the off-season. That's not a shot at Michigan State, that's just the way it is in Ann Arbor. Ohio State, we gotta beat them.

Stoney: (Plaxico Burress) was at this year's U-M/MSU game, because the Giants had the bye week. He was on the sidelines wearing his Michigan State stuff, he was going crazy.

Larry Foote: People who go there, I'll give them that, they got a lot of school pride, but you know, they're always looking up toward us. There's only one Michigan, and you cannot be like us, Spartina.

Wojo: Where do you stand on the issue, Larry says is sort of a skirt that Sparty wears. That's just a Spartan warrior outfit, right?

(caller): Maximus wore one in Gladiator, nobody's calling him out.

Wojo: That's a good point.

LF: Maximus defeated people. Y'all not defeating nobody, so that looks like a skirt to me. Spartina, Spartina!

Wojo: It is good natured, right?

LF: I'm being honest, I'm 100% honest. I did a poll, I was doing a survey, let's just go there and make it a big parking lot, tear the whole school down. Does Ford need some land to load these trucks up?

Wojo: Larry hold up, it sounds like you have a bigger hate toward Michigan State than you even do for Ohio State.

LF: I hate Ohio State the day we play them. But we have a respect, to have that type of rivalry, you kind of root for Ohio State. You don't want them to win, but you appreciate them because they make the rivalry.

Interesting, I remember during the Cooper era players would make comments like "It's just another game, we don't even refer to them as Ohio State, they are just Ohio" or "that game isn't even the toughest we play" etc...

Funny what being on the losing end will do to change your perspective on things.

Not to turn this into another Pryor thread, but UM pushing other kids hard is the other shoe I have been looking for. I think it is fine that TP is having fun with the process, but I would hope he is being square with the coaches.

I'll tell you what's funny. MSU fans are mad at Foote for "stealing" the little sister thing, because "little sister" is what they chanted at the basketball game this last weekend. Never mind they got that idea from Mike Hart in the first place.

I actually would apologize for Foote's arrogance toward MSU, but, MSU fans insist on being equally arrogant back (oh you should hear them over basketball, and about this weekend in hockey) and still like to pretend that we're the arrogant ones. So yeah, Hart and Foote flapped their mouths, and in East Lansing they'll bitch about U-M arrogance, and I don't care because they're equally guilty of it. So I just laugh at Foote's comments.
