Right now I'd say Boeckman. IMO Schoenhoft isn't going to be quick enough to play in JT's offense. Smith, Zwick, and Boeckman all have an ability to run that I have not seen out of Schoenhoft. He looked slow when he tried to scramble in the Cincy game. If Henton starts I doubt JT will get a pro-style QB to come to OSU for a good long time.

What do you mean by a long time? 2 years?
If JT starts a Redshirt freshman QB (Which he won't) he may not get a drop back passer to sign for a year simply because a player may think he would have to sit too long. But other than that I disagree completely with your comment.
First,You are not giving enough credit to this program and to JT. This is OSU. Players from any where in the country will always want to come here under any circumstances. This is especially true with kids from Ohio.
Do you actually think a kid growing up in Ohio that has loved the Buckeyes and is a pure drop back passer would hesitate to come to OSU because JT started black, scrambling/running QB for three to five years in a row?
Secondly, you still have no idea what kind of QB Henton will be. Why is he suddenly described as any kind of QB before he has even taken a snap?
Even if he is cat quick, there is no telling that the staff will not turn him into a drop back passer, just as they've done with Smith. Smith cannot any longer be considered anything but a pro-style drop back passer.
Lastly, the future "Pro-style" QB may very well be the Mike Vicks of the football world.
I don't think any of it will matter though as Boeckman will be your starter. The kid sure looks like he could be tough.

If we get adequate replacements at DT for next season, the defense would be very very good, good enough that Tressel can count on them to win games again. And given that we will have a lot of playmakers returning (Gonzo, Pittman, Wells to name a few), I think Tressel will find a QB who best understands his offense but most importantly does not turn the ball over. Even though it is very tempting to vote for Henton, who will likely carry Smith's torch at some point, I think it will be a veteran player with a couple years of experience under his belt.

Edit: And like Exhawg stated, I think Tressel places a lot of value on mobility. (Think Krenzel, Smith and even Belisari). If all things are even between Boeckman and Schoenhoft, it is possible that Tressel would give the nod to Boeckman based on greater mobility.

What the heck - why not now?

They are already in place. The D will be stellar. It will be 2002 all over again.

With Pittman and Wells back all we need is somebody to keep them half honest in the box. I need to see something out of Schoenhoft to make me believe he is ready to play Tressel-ball. Henton with one year under his belt? No way.

I go with Boeckman.
