And in the Midwest, #25 Ohio State took care of business against Michigan winning 27-15 after leading 12-10 at the half. The Buckeyes scored four tries, one by flyhalf Nate Ebner who was back in the fray after the national U-20s assembly.
"Michigan's defense was very tough and well organized," Ohio State head coach Tom Rooney told ARN. "Their attack produced many fast balls and allowed lots of long runs. Their #10 played a great game. Those two things allowed Michigan to compete at the point of attack again and again. Kudos to their coach, ex-Midwest #8 Dave Perpich."
OSU will host Indiana in the first round of the Midwest playoffs next weekend. Other matchups will be Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Minnesota, Ohio University at #18 Bowling Green, and Wisconsin-Stout at Northern Iowa. The winners will advance to the Midwest Finals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on November 3-4.
The latest batch of results from around the country again has caused some movement in the ARN rankings, and again for the most part it has all taken place in the bottom half of the Down Under Endeavours Top 25.
The team that has benefited the most this week is Boston College. The Eagles have leapfrogged a couple of other teams following their victorious 40th anniversary match, while Texas A&M has gone the other way on the back of a couple of losses on the road in Utah.
UC Davis also has profited from other teams? misfortunes even though they?re still idle. The Aggies have a new head coach in Andy Malpass, who steps in to fill the void created by Steve Gray?s decision to step down.
Ohio State moves up a spot after another good win, Rutgers falls one place behind a loss in the final regular season game in the Met New York Conference, while Oklahoma reappears in the rankings after a lengthy hiatus. The Sooners have been racking up some impressive Ws along the way. And Vassar dropped out altogether following their loss to Columbia in Met New York, a result that knocked the Brewers out of contention for a shot at a place in the Northeast playoffs.
After plugging in the data, accounting for Power Ratings, and looking at the head-to-heads, here is the latest Down Under Endeavours Top 25.

This week sees one of the most tumultuous run of changes to the Down Under Endeavours Top 25 since their inception. Following a weekend of upsets, playoffs, and big tournaments, ten teams move up, nine drop, three debut, and three others disappear.
The biggest improvers are Dartmouth and Texas A&M. The Big Green finished second in New England, while the Aggies had a winning run in the inaugural Border Wars tournament in Dallas. Other teams on the move in the right direction include Utah, Kutztown, Delaware, Harvard, Bowling Green, Ohio State, Penn State and Buffalo.
Cal Poly has taken the biggest tumble behind a winless road trip to Utah. Other teams taking a dive include St Mary?s, Army, Tennessee, Wyoming, Boston College, San Diego State, UC Santa Barbara and UC Davis. They?ve all slipped because of crucial losses or simply because they?re idle. Rutgers, USMMA and Oklahoma have fallen out of the rankings completely. The Black Death and Mariners bid us farewell because their runs have come to an end, while the Sooners also say goodbye after being trounced in Dallas.
Making their first appearances of the 2007/08 season are Colorado, Minnesota and Nebraska. The Buffaloes have qualified for the Western Conference playoffs, the Golden Gophers are into the Midwest semifinals, and the Huskers are poised to advance in the West. After keying the truckload of data into the ARN spreadsheet, here is this week?s Down Under Endeavours Top 25.
