There has been plenty of movement on the Down Under Endeavours Top 25 after the opening round of games marking the start of the new collegiate season. No fewer than seventeen teams have moved either up or down.
The biggest improver is Ohio State, which checks in at #25 this week replacing fellow Midwest side Minnesota, after upsetting the previously highly ranked Penn State. The Buckeyes jump back into the rankings after a lengthy hiatus by virtue of their defeat of a team from a Conference with a higher Power Rating.
Conversely, the Nittany Lions take the heaviest fall because they were beaten by a side from a Conference with a lower Power Rating. In all, eleven teams climb the rankings, while four others besides PSU drop, and the Golden Gophers fall out altogether. So, with all the data plugged into the ARN spreadsheet, here is this week?s Down Under Endeavours Top 25.

Despite some mercurial play by former national U-19 flyhalf Nate Ebner, Ohio State succumbed to hosts Tennessee 33-19 in a much-anticipated contest Saturday in Knoxville, TN. The Volunteers led 16-9 at the half.
In the end it was a three tries to one margin for Tennessee, although it was a tough, grinding kind of game and both teams knew they?d been in a match at the end of the 80 minutes. Ebner potted three first half penalty goals to register all of the Buckeyes? points through the first forty, two of them before the Vols got on the board.
Into the second quarter of the contest, the home team started to find its rhythm and together with some enterprising kicking in general play, Tennessee slowly started to take control of proceedings. Try-scorers included Joel Fugate, Jonathan Brown and Jimi Reid. Winger Reid also was perfect on the day with his goal kicking, converting all three tries and landing three penalties. Andrew Melroy put over a drop goal to round out the Vols? scoring.
?It was obvious that in some ways it?s still early in the season for both sides. Neither side seemed to get any traction,? Tennessee head coach Butch Robertson told ARN. ?There was a lot of rucking and pounding it up through the forwards, which is what you expect against Ohio State.?
Ohio State scored a try in the second half to stay in touch, but the Buckeyes weren't able to bridge the gap. In spite of the loss, head coach Tom Rooney was reasonably pleased with his team's performance.
Elsewhere, Bowling Green maintained its unbeaten form with an 88-12 victory over Ferris State.

#25 Ohio State got back on track Saturday with a 75-8 pounding of IUP in the opening round of the Midwest championship pool play.
The Buckeyes led 48-3 at the half and never looked in danger of dropping the contest.
“The best part is we've had over 80 kids at practices and some athletes,” said Ohio State head coach Tom Rooney. “It’s so much fun to see young enthusiasm, and lots of future.”
Ohio State plays Navy next week but will be without their main playmaker Nate Ebner. The smart pivot will be at a national U-20s assembly.
Elsewhere, Indiana beat Michigan State 17-10.
Meantime, #24 Bowling Green just keeps on keeping on and racked up another huge score in thrashing Central Michigan 102-0 in a Michigan league game.

Yup Ebs and Kurt are both studs. I played with them my senior year, they were sophmores at the time..wadc45;940126; said:Hilliard native, father is an OSU/Scioto Valley alum. He also brought a future stud at hooker with him from Hilliard.
Good luck the rest of the way coach, I've never seen Kurt go a full season w/o some sort of injury, hopefully that will end and he'll produce for you guys on the pitchwadc45;946836; said:Ian has not worked out with us this year. Herbach is in the rotation on the B/C side deep three. Harper has been out with an injury since the first game of the season @ BG.

Meantime, #25 Ohio State has secured a spot in the Midwest Championships later this month with a 46-5 decision over rivals Ohio in pool play Saturday in Columbus, OH. The Buckeyes led 15-5 at halftime.
The turning point of the game came in the first ten minutes of the second half when OSU scored two quick tries. The first was a pushover from five meters out scored by eightman Brandon Jewett, and then from the ensuing kickoff, Jewett broke a long run that saw the ball go through six sets of hands before lock Eric Schulte finished it off in the try zone.
The Buckeyes scored three more tries in the closing ten minutes to finish the day, all coming from quick taps and long runs.
"There were lots of missed opportunities, but we beat an opponent that has beaten us the last two outings," said Ohio State head coach Tom Rooney. "Slowly it's coming together."
