2007 NFL Draft (Projections/Mock Drafts/Evaluations/Draft)

Didn't Charlie Weis guarantee Rhema McKnight would be a 1st rounder before the season? He's still on the board.

Charlies NFL factory spiel took a big hit this weekend.

Pats just took a Domer CB, must want to have a practice player to instill confidence in the passing game.

I'm not becoming a Ratbird fan to root for Troy, that's for sure.

But I already like the Colts minus Dungy. Having all these Buckeyes just makes me like them more. Screw the Ratbirds. There's only one player that would make me like them and Troy ain't it.

Samardzija and McKnight both had poor showings against the secondary in the last 2 games of the season, USC and LSU. Both teams had pretty good secondaries that got players taken in the draft. McKnight is still a pretty good player, Samardzija got more publicity, hes not in the draft though. McKnight was on par with Samardzija in TDs. My only guess is those last two games hurt McKnight's draft stock quite a bit, and he didn't show anything spectacular at the combine either I think. Hes a good blocker and runs decent routes, could be a productive #3 guy on a team.

Looks like Burgess will be joining Troy in Baltimore.

Troy should put this in his locker on the first day of camp.

Troy Smith to the ravens!!!!
Ratbirds! But, I'm glad that Troy gets a chance to show his stuff - and given the obvious high regard Brian Billick has for Jim Tressel I think he'll get a really serious shot.

Meanwhile Mr. Irrelevant was out of Alabama, CB Robinson, Ramzee. That makes the total number of SEC Players taken in this draft 40. (Guess that explains why they have to break the rules, err, recruit more than 25 players per year :tongue2:.)

32 players were selected in this draft from Big 10 teams.

Some teams with a fair number of drafted players:

Florida - 9, Ohio State - 8 (3 of whom suit up for the Colts come practice time), Michigan -7, Notre Dame -7, Texas -7, USC - 5, Miami - 5 (and a few folks wondered why Coker was in the hot seat?), Auburn - 5, FSU -5 majority in the 3rd round, LSU sent 5, 4 of whom were grabbed in the first round, Penn State also sent 5 to the Sunday leagues, Nebraska -4, Oklahoma only sent 3 to play on Sunday.
