Hey, tailgater_gal, we've been backing them for quite a while now, as you can see from the thread....

Sorry about missing that scUM series, I've got to stop mixing these drinks so strong. That and the warm tropical breeze had made me kind of forgetful.

I also had a 2006 season thread as well.

But with my daughter finding a much more expensive hobby, softball may be on the way out for her.

Big Ten Champion Buckeyes Beat Up on Penn State in First Round of Big Ten Tournament

There's having a thin pitching staff, then there's having a thin pitching staff.

Penn State had just one healthy pitcher left on its roster going into it's first-round tournament game with the Buckeyes, Jen Reynolds.

Reynolds had control problems against the Buckeyes, and that meant big problems for Penn State. OSU hitters drew seven walks against Reynolds to make life miserable for the Nittany Lions. When Reynolds couldn't make pitches she had to groove the ball over the heart of the plate to get strikes. When she did, the Buckeyes were ready. When they weren't walking the Buckeyes were hitting those fat pitches from Reynolds to the tune of 10 hits to go with those seven walks and put 10 runs on the board in a one-sided 10-2 win.

Kalafatis Named Big Ten Coach of the Year; Seven Buckeyes Honored
Juarez receives fourth All-Big Ten honor


COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State's Linda Kalafatis was named the Big Ten Softball Coach of the Year and seven members of the Big Ten champion Buckeyes received all-conference honors as the All-Big Ten teams were announced Thursday prior to the start of the Big Ten tournament at Buckeye Field. 25th-ranked Ohio State, the host and No. 1 seed in the tournament, takes on No. 8 seed Penn State at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
