On Senior Day, Buckeyes win second Big Ten championship and first since 1990; Ohio State will host Big Ten tournament beginning Thursday
COLUMBUS, Ohio - It had been 17 years since the Buckeyes' last Big Ten championship, and they had to wait just a little longer Sunday before winning it with four runs in the top of a dramatic seventh inning in a 4-0 conference-clinching victory over Penn State at Buckeye Field. The Big Ten title is the second overall and first since 1990 for Ohio State, which will host its first Big Ten tournament beginning Thursday, when the top-seeded Buckeyes will face the No 8-seeded Nittany Lions in a quarterfinal rematch at 7:30 p.m.

Northwestern finished the year at 15-3 in conference play to capture the No. 2 seed in the tournament. The Wildcats will open tourney play on Thursday, May 10 at 5 p.m. ET when they face off against No. 7 Michigan State, which ended the Big Ten season with a 7-9 mark. Ohio State will then take on No. 8 Penn State (5-9) at 7:30 p.m. ET.
On Friday, No. 3 seeded Michigan (12-4), the reigning Big Ten Tournament Champion, battles No. 6 Illinois (7-8) at Noon ET, while the second game of the day will feature No. 4 Iowa (10-7) taking on fifth-seeded Purdue (10-9) at 2:30 p.m. ET. The championship game is set for Saturday, May 12, at 1 p.m. ET, and will be televised by College Sports Television. I am so excited about the way the Ladies played that I'm out of breath.
Oh MY!
The defense was just absolutely great! They just fought and fought and wouldn't give up. We should all be as pleased as punch that the ladies are upholding tOSU lots better than the men are.
I think maybe we should start cheering more for the ladies than we do for the men.
Now remember that thursday the tourny starts and I want to see a lot of cheering and support.

Ohio State entered the final weekend of conference play needing to sweep Penn State to claim its first Big Ten crown since 1990. The Buckeyes responded by posting a 4-2 triumph in Saturday's contest. The next day, with the score knotted at 0-0, OSU tallied four runs in the seventh inning to notch a 4-0 shutout over the Nittany Lions and close out the conference slate at 14-2. The Buckeyes have claimed the second Big Ten title in program history and will also host the Big Ten Tournament for the first time ever.
