What about his Illinois TD last year- knocks a would-be tackler into next week, runs in for 6?
Meh. My point is that in three season Pitt has only a few immediately recognizable, signature runs.

50 years from now, if you see his run against Notre Dame in the Fiesta or his run against Michigan this past weekend, you'll say "that was Pittman" with as much certainty and immediacy as if you were watching Byars running down the turf in one shoe. But there is little else there other than those runs, and that's why he won't get the media recognition he deserves.

I'm not trying to speak ill of Pitt, I'm just saying he doesn't have "it."

Quinn's injury may have cost him in what was likely a close call...

ya, I see what your mean .Its just sad for him and the fans that understand what he did for :osu: . He's in that great group of the seniors that improved every year to become a star that no one thought it would happen. FRom being a good player to a star

Only SMITH beats him in the over all improvement list from day one

Tressel losing Coach of the Year to Bielema is a joke. Wiscy played NO ONE (except Michigan, and they lost). Tressel defeated two #2 teams, and went wire-to-wire being #1 (so far).
The thing is, I doubt Tressel cares about this honor. Anyway, everyone knows he's the best coach in the conference.

I'll say it has to be Llllloyd who didn't choose Troy. He probably only voted for his own players. Seeing that Woodley and Hall are the only unanimous choices further suggests that could be the case.

It's great to see Gonzo get recognition form the Coaches. Sometimes I wonder what the media is smoking when they choose.

 :osu4:

To those who think Ginn deserves more recogniton as a receiver than Gonzo I ask you this question. If you had to line up 5 wide against scUM with 1 current Buckeye receiver and 4 intramural players who would you choose from the current TOSU receiving corps?
Gonzo is a better receiver than Ginn, no doubt whatsoever.

First off, I would resign immediately for getting into an empty set with 4 intramural WRs...

:wink2:

I know what you are saying though...however, is Gonzo as dangerous without Ginn? Questionable, but imo, no. Is Ginn as dangerous Gonzo? Imo, yes.

Gonzo is the more polished WR...but when it comes to breaking a game, Ginn takes that battle.

I guess its whatever floats your boat.

Ginn or Gonzalez? Lemme tell you this as a fan of the opposition. When Smith unleashes the ball and you can't immediately see on the TV screen who it's for, I'm hoping Ginn. He might drop it. Gonzalez won't.

Gonzalez is just as dangerous in the open field as Ginn and just as likely to outrun a DB. Just cause Ginn can outrun the DB faster doesn't change the fact that the guy is still beat. Gonzalez is the better route runner, has the better hands, and IMO, is tougher when going over the middle. Ginn might be more athletic, but he's not the better receiver.
