Holmes in Boot?

Today's plain dealer mentions that Santonio has joined some of peers (zwick, cordle etc. ) wearing the "boot". also said he was walking with crutches?

Sometimes it's a measure to be cautious of it turning into a serious injury. I'm hoping it's the staff jut being cautious.

Veteran players like Holmes are ready to go...they will not be bothered much by a few missed practices. I would bet the farm this is precautionary as the countdown to gameday gets closer

I finally tracked this one down. This is all a result of Maupin's unpaid parking tickets. These guys all have unpaid jay-walking tickets.

According to Tressel on the ozone he had this to say about the injuries.


Sanonio Holmes has a foot banged up a little bit and we didn't put him in, I would say Rory Nicol and Jim Cordle might be out a little long with some foot spains, maybe a couple of weeks we're guessing. Mike D'Andrea we didn't put in and still don't think he's ready to put in a live scrimmage situation. Albert Dukes has a shoulder that will keep him out a couple of weeks. We expect Justin back next week, but I don't know what day.

I don't like what I hear about some of these injuries. Rory and Jimmy will be out fairly long at least somewhat into the season possibly. I don't like Dukes being out a couple more weeks. He may not be able to play in the first game, and that may make him unable to play against Texas. I am looking for some big things from Mr. Dukes this season w/ Holmes, Ginn, and Gonzo getting attention. Possibly even becoming the #3 or #4 receiver. Oh well...it's not like were lacking depth at the wr spot with Hall and Lyons still there and Hartline is turning some heads. Hopefully everyone is back for the opener.

Confirmed: Injuries

I'm putting this in the Rumor Mill as a rumor, but it's confirmed. I talked to a family member of Rory today. He has a foot injury (family member didn't specify) that will keep him out of action anywhere between 3 weeks and 3 months....with a redshirt as a possibility. :(

I read in the Columbus Dispatch yesterday that Bobby Carpenter had been taking some snaps at TE in practice. I dont know if this is legit or not but if Nicol is really hurt it could definitely explain why he was.
