I think they are trying to spread the awards out.
Hell look even OSU did it this year. Hawk as we know was the best player on the team, and was voted MVP of the team. But he wasn't named defensive MVP. That award went to Whitner.
I just they're trying to other guys recognition and spread things around.
I'm sorry, I knew it was either Kudla or Whitner. Just got them mixed up.I think it actually went to Kudla, not Whitner.
If you look there is two(maybe three) awards that Hawk could have got and maybe should've. The Warrior Award and Defensive MVP he could've won(I don't want to make it sound like the guys that won them don't deserve it, they did). As for the Most Inspirational award, that could've went to Hawk also. But I think Carp would have got it over Hawk, had Salley not won it.MVP: Hawk
Offensive MVP: Smith
Defensive MVP: Kudla
Most Inspirational: Salley*
Academic Excellence: Schnittker
Warrior Award: Schlegel
Top DB: Whitner
Top Special Teams: Huston/Ginn
Top OL: Sims/Mangold
Top WR: Santonio
Top Interior Lineman: Patterson/Pitcock
Top Freshmen: Boone/Jenkins
Michigan Game MVP: Smith
thats how you do it for team awards so the same guy doesn't win everything. when you're doing it for all of college football it's run a little differently.tedginn05 said:I think they are trying to spread the awards out.

from limited reports, hawk seems to be a quiet leader.. wheras schlegs/salley are much more vocal leaders. As for the Most Inspirational award, that could've went to Hawk also.
