Kyle Young/Cade Stover man crush. Stomp!
  • A lot of people outside our community may look at this class and say it came up just short because maybe we didn't finish with the "ones we wanted" on LOI day. I say they would be wrong! I love this class. We filled every spot of need for our football team and filled our quota of Natural Born Buckeyes as well. All of the kids we signed or will sign today have great character. For the kids that sign today they should know we are proud of them. They weathered the storm of media b.s. and they weathered the neverending slaps in the face by other potential suitors. These kids could easily have taken the easy road and blamed it on "too much pressure" or "uneasy feelings" due to rumors. They didn't. Now will come the reward for the men that follow through on their commitments. The Buckeye nation will shower them with deserving love. The national spotlight will shine on them continually. Their names will be known all across the nation if not the world, because the Buckeye family stretches continents and time. I love this class! So many athletes have donned the Scarlet and Gray before them. Many will after but how many have the guts and desire of this group?! Wether they end up superstars on the field or not is entirely up to them. They are already superstars in our hearts! Go Bucks and did I mention I love this class?

Well said...I love this class too...there's so many guys in this class that bring something so valuable to this team, I'm so honored that they chose to be apart of the (in my opinion) greatest university in America...they now have their foot in the door of being part of the legends and heroes that (another opinion coming) the greatest fan base of all will love (and to some will worship them)...gotta love a kid from New Jersey who has a championship, one from New York that has just treated everyone with class, a son of a football coach who waited it out to get the oppertunity he felt was best, one from Indiana who had a dream of playing in the shoe, 2 from Glenville who are the next to flow through the pipeline, 2 Big time offensive linemen who jumped at the chance to be a buckeye, a son of a legendary pro wrestler who's a great kid and football player, 2 wide receivers who are just extrodinary people, a running back who wanted to be a buckeye it seems for a long time and be around his family, a kid from Georgia that seems to be a great student and a pretty explosive player in his own right, a linebacker who also wanted to play for his dream school, a QB that just amazes you when you read his qoutes, and a california kid who just oozes buckeyeness....gotta love this class..I'm proud to have them apart of it..and here's hoping we get an Akron kid who has also is an awesome kid and football player (and if not..then I hope he has an amazing time at ND)....this is the class you gotta love.

    your thoughts on the class

very nice class.... looks like 18 commits this year. Wilson should move us up to the top 5 classes or so. Very happy with the talent we have coming in and several of these guys should be able to contribute immediately.

Why do I feel like I did when I was a kid when I had just opened the last of my Christmas presents? Happy with what I got but, alas, no more till next year.:(

Thank you to Alan, Nevada, Clarity, Mili, Grad, HH, Stripe and all the other posters on BP that made this a lot of fun. Next stop.... Spring Game.

It would be cool if a bunch of us could get together and tailgate before the game. I am always there before sun up. Eggs and Kegs.

Congrats to all the new Bucks!!!

Well it's amazing what one recruit can do. We moved up from 10 to 6 in TheInsiders rankings and from 15 to 11 in the Rivals rankings. I am very happy with this class.

Congratulations to the Buckeye staff for landing a top-notch class. Rankings don't mean a whole lot. As long as you are around top 10 or so, you're pretty much hitting the mark.

The main point is to look at needs, and that is exactly what we addressed. Were Gwaltney and Ashley losses? I guess so, but not by a whole lot. We have all the bases covered in this class, with a minor shortage along the o-line. We red-shirted some studs, though, so I really am not too concerned, as long as recruiting year '06 targets and lands about 4 or so. All in all, these are the kids we got, and we should all be happy and proud.

Have to agree. This is a solid group of players but even more solid group of people. Good grades, no 'tweeners. I could not be happier all things considering.

I also love the way the staff has come out of the gates agressive with offers to our top guys on DAY 1. If this is an indication of things to come I am very pumped about our new RC.

Great news al the way around.

    Welcome aboard guys.

Look forward to seeing you all display your skills as soon as possible. It may not come as easy as it did in High School (Hell, you guys all pretty well dominated your highschools) - so if and/or when you get bummed about it, keep on working. It'll make you even better in the long run.

For those of you that get the nod as a Freshman, try and keep a level head and keep on improving. Might sound cliche, I suppose, but things only become cliche cause their true.

Anyway, good luck in football and more importantly, life, over the course of the next 4 years especially, and always.

I'm thrilled with this class. In fact, the only recruit I really wish OSU would have landed was Taz. But, I've had pleanty of time to deal with his going to Fla. Bemoll Taz Cordle and Boone would have been something. Oh well, it's still a great class.

Agreed - this class is all about quality. Scout has us as the #7 class -- nothing wrong with that. So what if Rivals has us "only" at #11 in their chart. (Only reason Rivals has done a downgrade on some tOSU commits is because, well they committed early - that doesn't play into their news-worthy game or titillate potential subscribers).
You look at the some of the other classes and they are at least as much about quantity. E.g., TN, NE, A&M sCUM and dem Hawkeyes. Only SC has clearly brought in a higher rated class with an identical or lower class size -- and they are just coming off their undisputed NC win.
Outside of JG -- who may become a distant memory once we land C. Wells in '06 -- the only other prospect that I'd add to your list of the missing from this class would be Kyle McCarthy. As much for the quality and intelligence he seemed to bring to the table as for his athletic skills.

The '05 Class is Quality Stuff -- '06 looks like it'll be a killer class and '05 looks like its a really great season for our Buckeyes!
Its a good day to be a Buckeye Fan!
