Re: 3-2-3 <HR>Henne's numbers:
0-2 vs. ND
0-2 vs. OSU
0-2 in bowl games

The future is bright!

The funny thing is Herbie was talking up Henne all game, talking about how many different things teams "are going to have to scheme for" next year. Well, that may be true, but when he's 0-6 in games Michigan fans care about, I don't think things are going to change much.

Anyone think he's headed to the NFL like those "7 great QBs who preceded him" if he keeps playing like he is? Haven't seen Drew Henson or John Navarre on any all-pro teams lately, either.

Is it possible to feel BAD for Michigan?

I am left with an uneasy feeling in my stomach after watching tonight's game between Nebraska and Michigan. On the one hand I am happy that they lost, but on the other hand I feel like no team, even Michigan, should have to lose in such a manner.

So my question... is it possible to feel BAD for Michigan?

My answer is that I am conflicted:
  • Michigan's loss will help Ohio State with recruiting, but a win would have helped the Big Ten's bowl game standing.
  • Michigan's loss may lose Coach Carr his job, but Coach Lllloyd Carr will almost always inevitably lose to Tressel in The Game.
  • Michigan's loss was primarily the result of atrocious officiating, but can I bear to hear Lllloyd complain anymore about the refs?
  • Michigan's loss makes the Big Ten look weak, but does a loss in this manner really do that?
Oh, and what was #89 thinking running out of bounds on the final play of the game instead of pitching the ball one more time?

we got robbed - end of story

Classic. Yeah, you got robbed alright. Rooting for a shitassed team like meshitagain will do that.
this was the pure gold in that thread:

But, let's face it. Nebraska sucks. They got destroyed by Kansas and Missouri this year. I think they are building something good in Lincoln, but truly, Nebraska sucked this year.

And they beat us. Not only that, but we coughed up an 11 point lead in like 3 minutes. We didn't deserve to win this game, at all. We never play up to our potential, ever. We always disappoint, we always let the opponent back into the game, and more often than not, we always find creative ways to lose at the end.

Carr needs to be fired. If that means that we have to endure a horrible season, and go 3-8 or whatever to do so, then I'm all for it. Would anyone not trade our situation for OSU's at this moment? They fired their mediocre coach, were bad for one year, and then have rattled off a string of excellent seasons. We can't keep prattling along with 3 or 4 losses every season. We can't keep relying on lucky bounces and poor ref calls to narrowly escape games we should EASILY WIN.

We just lost to Nebraska. This is a low point in our program's recent history.
Sorry jw, but his whines are NOT legitimate. With the difference in talent, they never should have been in a position for officiating to make a difference. Anyone say the Huskers were more up for this game? Why? Callahan is a mediocre coach at best and you and your staff couldn't outscheme him? Pathetic. They lost that game themselves, not the officials. LLLLLoyd can whine all he wants, but he has no legs to stand on. Oh, and not shaking Callahans hand at the end of the game is inexcusible. Jerkoff.
agreed... they got beat by vastly inferior talent, and they surrendered the stranglehold on that game. However, those calls had a huge impact on the way it closed out.

He didn't shake his hand? That's classic carr for you. I was dying to see the postgame press conference... but was stuck in a house without espnews.

wasn't Ecker also the guy who didn't run out of bounds on the final play vs OSU?

Watching the play again a few times, if he flipped it to breaston at any point, there was a ton of space to run along the left side (b/c the Nebraska bench served as a giant shield from any pursuing defenders on that side).

I don't know man...having to burn timeouts they could have used at the end to get reviews, especially on the obvious drop in the endzone, is a pretty legit beef, I think. Also not blowing the play clock running for about 10-12 seconds on 4th down was pretty bad too. They could have had 3 plays instead of 1.

True. But what I'm saying is should scUM even have been in a position for those plays to make a difference? They were outplayed in the trenches, Henne should have had a couple of extra picks, Nebraska had a couple bad calls go against them, and the M*ch*g*n defense had a hard time stopping the run AGAIN. My point is this...how many of us expected a scUM blowout? I did, but they again showed there inability to show up when it counts. Do I think the officiating was horrible? Yes I do. Do I think it had a real effect on M*ch*g*ns chances? No. They should have rolled. Good job LLLLLoyd, Malone and Hermann...you have truly outdone youselves! I'm anxiously awaiting LLLLLoyd's presser, should be enlightening.

If offsetting flags were thrown on both teams for being on the field, what would have happened? No time was left and they offset. I'm just not sure what happens (I've never seen it happen).

And was anyone else waiting for the coke-bottle glasses wearing ref to run into play waiving a yellow flag on that Henne pass into the endzone? (This proves something we always knew, God hates Michigan)

Oh well, F-Mich.

Wrong on nearly every level.

I believe, correct me if I'm wrong that if off setting penalties end the game then there is one untimed down to be played. The refs screwed up, there should've been flags thrown and the penalties would have off set, but still I believe in that case that a untimed down is played.

Absolutely no argument here. I said, when they were 4-0, that Nebraska was the worst 4-0 team in the history of college football in a major conference...I stand by that assertion. They are awful, and Michigan choked away a double digit lead in the 4th quarter...which I thought would be impossible to do. But, instead of putting the ball in Hart's hands, who played tough today, they put it in Henne's hands, and the rest is history...kinda like LLLLLLLoyd's legacy.
