Northcoast Sports (Phil Steele) lists this game as the Underdog play of the week. They have the line at 17 Points and the forecast a OSU 27- UC 17 final score. Three priimary reasons are given:
UC's experience (17 starters back) and OSU's inexperience (9 starters back)
Dantonio knows the strengths and weaknesses of all the OSU players.
UC is underrated (finished 5-7 in 2003 but out gained opponents by 60 ypg)

They singled out Guidugli and Richard Hall as key players.

Well... at least they aren't looking for an upset exactly... I'll give them most everything there except this:

Anybody think it will be interesting to see how Dantonio plays this game knowing Justin and Troy have been running scout teams against his "D's" for the last two years with more talented players....

Clarification if possible please.

Just wondering if someone can clear up what channel this game is going to be shown on. On the OSU website, it is being listed as an ESPN regional telecast but I've had several people in the Columbus area say that the game is being listed in the TV Guide as being televised on channel 10. I didn't think games were broadcast on two separate networks like that. Can someone enlighten me please??????????

What I think we'll see in the game:

many 2 TE sets with TE motion and counters.
Smith on a fake option, then pass deep
Smith lining up in the slot, going in motion and Zwick fakes the handoff to him
4 WR sets with quick slants..probably will see this many times
more shotgun sets than expected
Short yardage with Joe

3-4 defense with D'Andrea lined up at RE
Schlegel blitzing up the middle with Salley playing robber on 1 and 10.
Whitner blitzing once or twice from the nickle spot.

just got bored....

We have a W.


I am happy, and we move on ....

We take the W, learn from it, and get better.

Time to go kick Marshalls Butts,
then go play the real season opener.
My prediction for the Marshall score .....

Vegas will take it off the board ... no line.

I think OSU will shut down Cinny's run game completly and force them to use Gino rolling out and trying for those short under neath routes. I say rolling out because if he stands back there good night sweet heart. I think at first it will definatly work as Ohio State IMO will play the first quarter very causiously considering they don't want to fall behind with a young team. I think the game will be like last years Northwestern game. The Defense will bend but not break, and our offense will be steady but not great. I do however see the score being somewhere along the lines of 28-3 or 24-0..... I just think Ohio State has too much speed and has too many weapons to be denied in this one. Going along with the fact that we have something to prove to the Polls' since we're being writen off so fast this year. I think Ross rushes for 130-150 yards also with 2 Td's! I can't wait guys! GO BUCKS.
