2002 National Championship Ring on eBay

OK, I guess. I must confess, though, I don't feel the least bit insulted. Maybe I'm not a real fan.....

The people who are the ones to state "Only a real fan" usually aren't in the first place and therefore have to "prove it" to others.

I still laugh at the bucknuts idiots who ripped on Nail Diggs on MNF when he said "'hio State" instead of the ignorant "THE ohio state university"

Meh, there's a lot of people on the team who didn't really play during the big game or much during the season, they go on, don't get drafted, don't play football, hey five grand is a lot of money.

And as for who would buy it? If I had five-grand sitting around doing nothing I would consider it, for me as a fan it's a great memory of a great season, I wouldn't wear it mind you.

If I was a player I wouldn't sell it, you wear that puppy into any bar in Ohio and odds are you'll never have to buy a drink again.

The ring has no symbolic value. In fact, I wonder if the 1968 team even got rings since there was no recognized NC game back then. Gee, based on your logic, the 68 NC team counts less than the 2002 since there was no ring. :roll1:

The ring has NOTHING to do with being a Buckeye. I'd say the gold pants are more valuable than that stupid ring. The gold pants have tradition and are given by OSU. This ring is given by some stupid committee of old farts and has NO connection to OSU.

I believe that Ross sold the gold pants too.

I know if it was my ring I wouldn't sell it!! My son has a conference championship ring from 2005 and I can tell you it is a prized possession. It reminds him off all the hard work he and his teammates did to earn that ring. Having said all of that, if he decided tomorrow to sell it, who am I to tell him no? It is his ring, he earned it and he has the right to do with it as he sees fit......

Although I would probably buy it from him and give it back to him when he matured in his thinking....

I can see Mook's arguement. THe ring does have connections to our winning tradition.
I can also see BKB's side and say it's ok to sell if someone wants too. I sure never would.
So I guess im just a
