what's so sad about it? Who cares?

Does selling the ring get rid of their memories of the game?
Does it mean they are no longer Buckeyes?
Does it get rid of their friendships they made at OSU?

Who the hell cares? It's just a stupid ring. :roll1:

Their life (finances and/or health) deteriorates where they need to sell the ring for the money.

You would think that someone in the medical profession (if you really are a doctorb) would have some compassion.

I care. Selling that ring is an insult to everything and everyone connected to the Buckeyes. It is a break with the traditions that surround the game.
It also dishonors the ring and all the others who wear it proudly and what it symbolizes.

It's also the choice of whomever owns the ring as to what to do with it.

The ring has no symbolic value. In fact, I wonder if the 1968 team even got rings since there was no recognized NC game back then. Gee, based on your logic, the 68 NC team counts less than the 2002 since there was no ring. :roll1:

The ring has NOTHING to do with being a Buckeye. I'd say the gold pants are more valuable than that stupid ring. The gold pants have tradition and are given by OSU. This ring is given by some stupid committee of old farts and has NO connection to OSU.

These players are in their 20s. Unless you're in the NFL, getting $5000 for a ring is a lot of money. You make it seem like these players are in the soup kitchen. Great reasoning. :roll1:
