I still don't agree with OPI if you jam the receiver and get shuck it's on you. it's not like they were running with each other and he pushed off for extra seperation at the end of the route
I agree that it was a bit soft, but imo you can't give them reason to call a penalty there and the truth is he put his hands on him so obviously the refs called immediately. But I'm not putting any blame on him, make no mistake that young man is going to bring us a lot of great football, I'm just stating that the lack of experience in these big games might have hurt him there.

An underachieving program this is and will continue to be unless something changes.
I could be wrong but...

When I went to the Marshall game a few weeks ago, and it's been a few since I've been there but I had a feeling even then in 2021, but it's too corporate of an atmosphere there now. It felt, frankly, off, I guess.

The machine that is Ohio State is a money machine. It's a money machine because they will reliably win 10+ games per year, get so many millions in sponsorships, ticket sales, concessions, etc etc.

2002 had an angry edge to it. It was a feeling you felt from the first snap of the first game, through the last snap of the scUM game and into the MNC game against Cryami.

Urban's teams always had that feeling with the exception of 2018. And that year the defense was one of the worst in Ohio State history.

But there were other years where the atmosphere is more, well, not relaxed but kinda exepcting like everyone will roll just by showing up. There's an energy in the stadium that seems to permeate everything - even the announcements and the presentations during TV timeouts and quarters seem to be all about the show and not about the go. Maybe I need to go again to compare but it felt like this....

Is it on the coaches? I don't know. The administration? Maybe? Again, I don't know.

It could also be that this team isn't nearly as talented as we, the fans, want them to be, and, coupled with an atmosphere where everything is expected to be easy, it's created a monster. Guess we will see what the rest of the season holds.

The OL play wasn't bad, the discipline there was terrible though, the problem is that again, in 2 or 3 years of Frye we see that very often. Perhaps Frye's seat needs get quite warmer as well. The most disappointing unit though ? It has to be the DLine especially the lack of pass rush by the DEs who was our last elite pass rusher ? Chase ?
The o-line wasn't bad. Unfortunately, we had one lineman carted off the field with what looked like a knee injury and another injury on the line.

This sucks, but it's not the end of the line like it would be in the BCS era. Lose to the pedsters or drop one to somebody we shouldn't drop one to, and I'll grab my pitchfork and light my torch. Until then, I'll have to check my notes, but I believe we dropped one to a so-so Virginia Tech team at home last time we won a NC.
A so-so Virginia Tech who lost to ECU or something like that the following week
