Obviously hope fields is going to be 100% healthy.

Our biggest weakness offensively has got to be the Oline just because the skill players are so talented. Even with 4 seniors on the Oline, they have been suspect against bleh D Lines, and against Chase Young and Co. will have their hands full and Trevor will take Hits. No getting around that.

Defense, our back 7 is better than they have ever been Under BV. Unfortunately, our safety Tanner Muse is a huge weakness. He's a hot head hard hitter who makes great plays, but he gets beat because he takes too many risks. I expect Day and Fields to pick on Muse ALL night long. The DLINE isn't great, but with the amount of blitzes BV brings, its neutralizes that.

Tanner Muse is NOT good in coverage and BV is very stubborn leaving him in man on. UNC went at that early and often. The Dline isn't great, and blitzing doesn't necessarily naturalize that at all. Because what you've done is given the opposing receivers 1 on 1 looks that you're asking your DB's to routinely hold up in. Toss in the fact should you face an opponent with a quality Oline and running game (Buckeyes) you have nobody immediately available as 2nd level help should the back clear the line.

BV was a pretty average to below average D-coordinator in the Big 12. Mostly because he likes smaller defenders up front and bringing a variety of pressure packages. That tend to get him into trouble with teams that ran the ball and bottled up the blitz looks. But at Clemson he has been infused with actual defensive talent coupled with facing overall a weaker offensive conference that is the ACC. We'll see how that pans out now that he doesn't have 3 1st round picks on the Dline but still adhere's to his Big 12 philosophy.

Well the excuse about him playing against the ACC doesn't really matter because most years the ACC has good offenses and he's gone up against Bama multiple times, Auburn multiple times, A&M, OSU multiple times, and been successful every year.

Bama, with the exception of last year, has hung points on you guys everytime they've faced you. Auburn, even this year, is pretty offensively marginal, A&M? Same Same. OSU....? Aside from 2016? You guys nearly had a 40 spot hung on you by an offense that basically revolved around 2 running backs that year and no functional passing game. You'll have to excuse my being less than impressed by BV.

edit: None of which changes my points. The Big Ten has had down years as well, doesn't mean the Buckeyes didn't field a quality defense. But right now, watching the Clemson D is something of an enigma. You can see the strengths, but I can also see how they can be exploited up front by the right team. An issue the Buckeyes do not currently suffer any where near a similar degree.

Listened to some of the media as they found out the seedings yesterday... jesus they give us nearly no chance.

It was sort of comical...

1. Clemson has DBs that can run- and we don't? Last I checked we are the ones with 3 first round DBs again.

2. Who do you stop on this Clemson offense? Last I checked games are decided up front. Speaking of which...

3. This is the best Clemson OL in 20 years- why because they played 1 defense in the top 30? Which btw held them to 24. What about NC who held them to 21? Glad you asked they're 59th in total defense. Against UC (52) we put up 42, Miami of OH we put up 70+ (58th), and against Nebraska (66th) we put up 40+. Last years OL for Clemson was better with Hyatt so not sure how anyone can say that. Chase Young is going to embarress fat sideshow Bob book it.

4. Our players didn't look thrilled when it was announced we were 2nd because we didn't want to play Clemson and are afraid- oh fuck off. We didn't look thrilled because we were pissed we weren't #1 anymore. We have to beat 2 very good teams to win another title so being afraid of Clemson is comical. We are pissed and we should be.

For weeks we heard how OSU is the best team by far and all the sudden basically no one gives us a shot against Clemson.

The more today goes the more I think we just might hurt this Clemson team.

1. Underdogs
2. They've won 28 straight
3. 31-0
4. The media is giving us no shot
5. They dropped us to #2

You know what, I won't go so far as to say I don't care if we don't win a long as we beat the shit out of them physically, but if do indeed fuck them up losing won't be as bad. I want them to walk off the field--winners or losers--to be thinking, "I don't want to ever, ever play that team again."
