Agreed. He is working overtime just to get his foot in the door with Ayala like he has. Not many coaches can get a player of Ayala's quality & academics at this late in the game, not to mention already getting Jallow in July, and oh by the way Kyle Young in June. If Chris pulls this off, he may be positioning himself for B1G COY.

Ayala update from last weekend, says a class decision is coming soon. Personally, I would expect the news within the next 2 weeks. He wants to decide the class first and then decide the program.

I never saw Ayala as a game-changer, anyway. No big loss in my book. He would have been somewhat useful this year, I guess. Probably one of those guards that shoots 35% from two and 30% from three his freshman year.

I started to waver on this stance a bit when he picked us for an OV and almost made it to that OV, would have been next weekend.

Turns out my first instinct was right.

Oh well, Will Richardson is taking his place for the visit next weekend. I am more than fine with that. I'd say Richardson might even be a bit more of a PG than Ayala, who I see more akin to Duane Washington but a bit more proven in the ballhandling and facilitating depts.
